Stormy Panic


+ Description: A storm has knocked out the power in the school building shortly after classes have ended for the day; it seems to nasty outside to leave, though the building is pretty deserted, save for one or two other people who got stuck.

+ Stay put, wait out the storm: -1 Guardians, +2 Faberge

+ Venture out to try to get the power back on: +1 Guardians, +1 Faberge

+ Sneak into the staff room while no one’s around: -2 Guardians, +1 Roost

+ Look for someone else who may be stuck: +2 Guardians, -1 Roost

For the last two minutes, Ji-Soo just stood there utterly still. His first day of school had already started badly. He had to be bailed out of the teacher's office in the morning. Next, he got soaked by the rain when trying to leave the building in the afternoon which shorted his phone and destroyed his sketchpad. Then it got worst when he got lost in said building. When he thought NOTHING else could happen, the lights gave three flickers and died. The power had gone out.

He was so shocked how bad his luck was today that he did't even care that he was standing in a puddle of his own dripping clothes. Now that the power was out and it was dark; what could a mute person even do!? Charades was always his backup when all else failed, but now he could flail and it would say the same thing as "Do you like cabbage rolls?" on a good day.

He hadn't realized that he was actually acting out his internal dialogue until he felt both of his arms were held outstretched and parallel to each other as if emphasizing a point. With a sigh Ji-Soo decided that if he was stuck anyways to make he suffering shorter by getting the power back on. He was already soaked anywa-

Before he finished his thoughts a quiet echoing sound came from down the hall. They sounded like the squeak of shoes. Maybe whoever this was could help him! Not sure of what else to do, Ji-Soo determinedly stomped his foot in a pattern. "S.O.S"

[Keiko]

There was nothing more that Keiko despised at the given moment than the absolute downpour that was crashing down outside the school building. Normally she was rather found of stormy weather- the aesthetic was very her, or so she thought, but when it was so plainly interruptive as it was currently she couldn’t help but fume. The audacity of the weather to literally pour down upon her perfectly styled was just far too unreasonable! For someone of her caliber getting public drenched was just too shameful.

For those reasons, strengthened significantly by her own pride, was what left her standin cold, alone, and a little scared in the seemingly empty main school building. After staying behind to wrap up some minor errands for various faculty members she wanted to get on their good side with, she ultimately found that the majority of other students had long since bailed for the safety of the dormitories. Initially her plan was to wait for the rain to pass, so she didn’t have to even remotely get wet, but as time passed even more the rain only fell harder… and harder.

Around the time she realized she was likely trapped within the walls she stood in, the lights went out completely.

It was her own fear that compelled her to eventually move along the now abandoned hallways, a tad on edge with how eerie they looked when utterly devoid of people. Keiko didn’t normally consider herself an especially spooked individual, but even she couldn’t help but keep up a constant sneer as she snooped around for any sort of light or life: which, eventually, she did more or less find.

A loud noise startled her out of her skin, causing her to very ungracefully leap from where she stood until she was clambering her way to clutch onto a support beam and let out a small shriek. With eyes wide like saucers and considerable paled skin, she looked hard into the darkness almost utterly convinced that she was going to meet eyes with a ghost. Perhaps a soul she had wronged? She didn’t think she had caused reason for any ghost to haunt her from beyond, but she’s been wrong before… but then noise continued in a more terrifyingly rhythmic manner.

Keiko’s first thought was to run, but she knew that there was no exit for her to exactly flee out of. The notion came to mind for her to fight the “ghost”, but she doubted the legitimacy of that idea immediately. It was the only idea she had though, so after struggling with her own ever-increasing terror she decided to make a mad dash towards the unknown sounds.

Confidently. Bravely. Without a moment to falter, she sprinted furiously into the darkness… right into the poor Ji-Soo.

[Ji-Soo]

For a second, Ji-Soo had stopped stomping his foot surprised by the startled shriek that was undeniably feminine sounding. He hadn’t meant to scare anyone, hopefully they at least knew Morse code or his actions would be in vain. It only took another half a second to decide it might be better to continue stomping his foot in hopes that the steady rhythm would somehow come up as non-threatening. Now though, instead of the foot echoing out as the only sound, the hallway was suddenly filled with a pair of footsteps running in a mad dash. Where were they heading towards him; hopefully not away from him? A grimace tugged at Ji-Soo’s lips, maybe he had scared them off after al-


That train of thought never got finished because in that instance only three things registered. One, he was horizontal. Two, his head hurt. Three, whoever had hit him was on top of him. Now Ji-Soo wasn’t by any means a big person standing at 5’6”/171cm, but it didn’t become that much of a problem before he could barely hold his ground and then got swept off his feet in the worse way possible. The only sound he could make was the tiniest grunt though at the point of impact. That tackle had really hurt! Worse yet he couldn’t vocalize that, so he reflexively pouted instead.


Carefully, Ji-Soo tried to sit up shifting the weight on top of him to one side, but now he was also dizzy on top of everything else that happened. Great. Maybe if he got the other attention he could make some progress. Blindly, the boy reached out an arm to hopefully grab the other’s shoulder where he thought it was. How MUCH worse can this whole thing get honestly?

[Keiko]

It had only occurred to Keiko then, while she was fully horizontal with someone pressed under her arms, that a full running tackle to deal with one’s fears wasn’t exactly a normal and ideal response to a fearful situation. The whole ordeal left her momentarily breathless, but it also seemed she had knocked the wind out of whoever she was pinned on top of, so Keiko had a good long moment to check out the person she who had more or less spooked her out with the noise she could not recognize.

… Which, ultimately, found her face to face in the darkness with a pouting student, still sporting his Seiyo uniform, and Keiko very quickly realized her mistake. The stranger was trying to lean up, although his temporary lack of coordination was a little obvious, and he reached out for what Keiko assumed was support. Eventually her shoulder was held onto, although it was only for a moment as Keiko was doing her best to roll off from on top of him, her uwabaki slipping a little helplessly against the floor as she tried to pull herself up onto her own feet.

“I am so, so, so sorry. Here-” After rising to her own feet, Keiko reached out a hand close to the stranger’s face, embarrassed already for her rude entrance and more than willing to help him up.

[Ji-Soo]

Ji-Soo smiled gratefully that the person hadn't been scared off and left him alone, but he wasn't entirely sure if he would ever survive another flying tackle from this person again. Taking the hand firmly, the boy braced himself as he attempted to right himself, with some slight difficulty because of the remaining dizziness.

Now that one problem was over, how was he going to communicate with the other girl. Maybe if he moved towards the window there would be a bit more light to- ah perfect. He could try to charades his way through this there. May the charade gods have mercy on him, this could end in flames and disaster.

Shifting his way over to the window, Ji-Soo preceded to wave both his hands trying to tell the other student "No worries" There didn't seem to be any confused face or expressions questioning his sanity yet so he tried to continue. He pointed at the girl, pointed at the lights up above and then finally gave a questioning shrug and quirked eyebrow.
