Big Miss Take was the owner of the convenience store that was closest along Fuka's usual route--but of all of them, hers was the hardest one to get cigs from. Sure, he was underage, but he was always getting cigs for his parents, not only just cigs for himself. Usually he could worm his way into talking the cashiers at other stores that yes, he was absolutely of age to buy these and yes, they were definitely fine to sell them to him--this was made especially easy what with the help of the small fairies that had come to him, which each allowed him their own approach to coaxing someone of his definitely good and right stances on things--and it usually worked, a fair amount of the time.
Despite this, Big Miss Take and her employees had already been too cued into his appearance and behaviors; they had all been trained to spot him a mile away, even when he came on days when new cashiers were working that he'd never met before. Terribly inconvenient, it was, and on one recent occasion, the Big Miss herself had even made an appearance, storming at him and driving him out in loud voices that felt far more extreme than anything within her usual character; what was up with that? It was intimidating, and he made it a point to keep away from there for the next couple of weeks.
But all seemed to turn to hell when Fuka--[self-proclaimed] perfect, role model student Kitaki Fuka, who wanted to be friends and on good terms with everyone and anyone--spotted her coming on campus the following afternoon, just as he'd stepped out of the school building to head to the library to, indeed, keep up that good student image he worked so hard to portray and defend. He'd stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing her heading toward the building, yelling at every bystander around that she was there and wanted to see the principal--she had to be out of her mind, right?!
Fuka instantly jumped to the overly-paranoid conclusion that she had to be there to rat him out and tarnish his [self-proclaimed] perfect reputation that he was a heavy smoker who tried to swindle her into selling he, an underage student at a semi-prestigious academy, into selling him several cartons of cigarettes. While in reality it seemed a pretty far stretch of an assumption, his mind was already dead-set.
And he had to do something about it.
Before he could even think, he'd made a 180 and headed back into the school building, looking for someone--anyone--around who looked shady enough to serve as a better distraction to her that he might be able to hide behind. Someone tall, someone foreign, someone delinquent-looking, someone with funky hair, someone breaking dress code...!? He had to find someone to throw her off.
