Track activities were over for the evening, and Kou was the first to leave the field. Though he enjoyed running, the clubs friendly bonding activities and matching track suits weren’t his style. Not only that, but he had to wait for his partner in crime, Koemi, to finish her own clubs before they could head home. This took quite some time, since every week she was doing something different. By the text she’d sent him, it seemed like he’d have another half hour to spare of waiting around.

Just as he was putting his phone away, a quartet of high pitched screams could be heard coming from around the corner of the school building. “Hm?” Upon looking over, Kou caught a glimpse of some masked students, running away from a group of scared girls. Interesting. It was October, but Halloween trick-or-treating wasn’t considered a thing here. Despite that, these mask wearing freaks had become a popular topic of discussion among his classmates. Now he was curious.

Moving under the shadow cast by the building, Kou went off in the direction of the troublemakers. He wanted to catch up to them, and watch while they found their next victim. Only after a few steps in did he find, and pick up a discarded werewolf mask on the floor. Had one of the students left the evidence behind?

[Hiro]

Honestly, Hiro had been wandering around after club activities. He'd showered after baseball practice, and made his way out for a simple walk, hands in his pockets, humming some song stuck in his head. He decided mid-step that he wanted to play some music, so he headed for the dorms and for his guitar, continuing to hum.

He was partially there when he heard several screams. He glanced over just in time to see students scrambling away from a group of masked people. At first, he kind of smirked, then let out a chuckle. Automatically, his feet turned in that direction and he made his way over.

One of the people with masks on regarded him with a bit of disdain, wondering if he was gonna go call a teacher over or something... but Hiro instead swiped a mask off of one of them. With a shout of anger the student whose mask was stolen swiped it back and told him if he wanted one he'd have to get his own.

Hiro glanced around. Well it's not like they carried extras around, probably... but oh, he noticed a werewolf mask on the ground. Except, it was now being picked up. What the heck? Hiro made his way over to the guy who had the mask, then held out his hand. "Yo, you found my mask. Thanks. Hand it over." he said with a slightly crooked smirk. Hiro you piece of shit liar. That isn't your mask... but he wanted it, regardless.

[Kou]

If he had been 5 seconds slower, Kou would not have had this luck. Another student was standing before him, now, requesting to have their costume piece returned. “You mean this mask?” he held it out towards the newcomer, as if offering to cooperate. However, his hand pulled back, revealing that this wasn’t the case. 

A liar always knows when a liar lies. Besides, the first year hated being told what to do. Maybe the brunet should've said 'please'. “I think you’re mistaken. See, this is my mask.” The boy tugged the elastic, and let go just to hear the snap as it hit against the back of his head. He brought the mask over his face, to cover up the cheeky smile. The way he saw it there was only one rule that applied here: finders keepers, losers weepers. It didn’t matter who it belonged to, it’s new owner was Inukami Kou.

“The first rule of ‘Fright Club’ is: You do not talk about Fright Club.” Which, Kou was going to do either way, “But i’ll make an exception, since you’re a fellow member… Right? You know, I think I saw another mask, over there. Maybe that one’s yours?” This wasn’t the case, but it was where the group of mischief makers were headed and near where the theater club left their costumes. He really wanted to chase after the scarers for info, maybe even give them a good dose of their own medicine. His intentions were not to play hero, but to find temporary amusement. It was convenient that this other student wanted in on the spooking. Kou could tag along, for the sake of going undercover.

[Hiro]

He was going to reach for it, but the other student pulled it out of his reach at the last second. His smirk grew a little. So that's how it was going to be, huh? "Tch..." He made a soft tsk sound through his teeth... followed by a chuckle.

"Mm, okay, fair enough." He shrugged nonchalantly. "Right, yeah." Totally a fellow member... but he could tell that this guy wasn't a member either. "Mmm maybe... I guess there's no harm in checking, huh?" He mused aloud, pivoting on his heel and starting to walk in the direction of the other costumes. "You'd best catch up before they leave you behind..." He commented over his shoulder as he moved to pick up a mask. It wasn't a werewolf, but it'd do.

He donned the mask, then turned back toward the other student. His mask was a creepy clown face that had a permanent smile plastered on its face. It was bloodied and looked simply murderous, honestly. "I think this one will do." He pulled on the mask a little, making the face look even more grotesque for a moment before he let go and it snapped back to the way it was before.

[Kou]

At least Kou could say this guy was half decent. I mean, he hadn't punched his pointy teeth out yet, even though his lying self deserved it. They both knew what was going on here, but neither of them mentioned it. Now this was the kind of acquaintance he could get on board with.

"Nah, they're slow." Let them have their heads start. Like a game of hide and seek: chasing them down was the best part. "Classy choice." Kou nodded his werewolf head in approval, "You look like something right out of a kids book. With a face like that, you'd totally make the best prom date, too." But that wasn't an invitation.

There was no sight of the others, but the screams up ahead were a good indication of where to go. "Try and keep up~" Being a fast runner, Kou felt a little cocky when it came to his speed. He had to keep in mind that his scare schedule was much more different than his new partner in spooks. They were passing by some students, and he figured he might as well offer an opportunity. "Why don't you go introduce yourself?" he suggested, "After all, who doesn't like clowns?"

[Hiro]

Hey, honestly... it's not like the guy was trying to stop him... and it's not like they weren't doing the exact same thing. So who really cared? Hiro didn't. And as long as Kou didn't try to stop him, Hiro wouldn't try and stop him either.

"Fair enough." He replied, nodding to the slow comment. He laughed softly afterward. "Ha! Thanks but you're not my type." He replied, whether it was an invitation or not. Then again, Hiro didn't really have a type, not that he knew yet. He just fooled around, and only with girls. Hmm, who knew, maybe some day he'd figure out what he wanted from life and from others.

Pushing those thoughts out of his head, he snorted. "That should be my line." He commented. He was a fast runner too. He played a lot of sports, even though his main squeeze has always been baseball. He's run track, played basketball, played soccer, football, tennis... he knew he was speedy enough.

At the offer to introduce himself, he glanced over to the group of students... then snorted. "Oh, after you..." He gestured politely. "Werewolves are in this season." How rare of Hiro to let someone else go first. Why so polite?

[Kou]

“We’ll see about that.” Kou challenged, but was pleasantly surprised that neither had trouble keeping up. There was no denying this guy was athletic- probably a member of a sports team. All the same, Kou had too much pride to not give his all to win their little ‘race’. Even if he ended up second, he could blame faulty shoe lacing.

“So gallant, Mr.Clown.” He realized he didn’t know the older students name. Introductions were simply a troublesome formality, at this point. “Me? You sure you don’t want to join in on the fun?” Kou was faced with a decision that he wasn’t expecting to make. It shouldn’t have been something to think twice about since he frequently picked on and teased others- especially one particular first year, who wouldn’t leave his mind as of late…

Koemi’s words echoed… ‘There’s a time and place for everything, but not now!!’
Maaaybe that line was from a childhood game… either way: Dammit, guilty conscience!

“About that…” The brief bit of hesitation was enough time passed for the oblivious students to begin walking away, but not as fast as Kou would like. The first year wiggled his arms like tentacles, in an attempt to rush them from a distance. Oooo Spooky! “You know, I think I’ve had my fill of scaring for today! Yup. My shriek-o-meter is up by at least twenty points-...” His words trailed off, as did his attention while looking past the scary clown, and towards the masked students getting away. “On second thought, I think I’ll go ‘surprise’ my good friends over there.” So much for meeting his quota for the day!

[Hiro]

He snorted lightly, obviously up to any challenge anyone threw at him... especially if it involved athletics like this did. He never backed down from things like this... which is probably a fault of his in the long run (heh long run...) but still.

When he was called gallant, that made him laugh. That's a first. Usually he got called a brute, so it was definitely something new. "Oh I'll join in, but... I can't be first in everything, so I'll give you the first in this one." He grinned behind his clown mask, even if the other couldn't see it.

He snorted when the other backed down, though. "Wow- maybe you should put on a chicken mask instead of a werewolf mask..." He rolled his shoulders, getting ready to go scare some unsuspecting kids, but... the other guy said something about his friends.

Glancing over his shoulder, Hiro looked to the group of people with masks on, the original spooky scary monster crew. He debated on it for a short moment... then reached out to the props, grabbing a fake machete. He offered it to the werewolf. "Here, use this... more effective than just a werewolf, you know? Nobody would think twice about running from a werewolf with a machete."

[Kou]

Touché. Being called out as a chicken ruffled his feathers (winks), but as much as it vexed him, he knew his actions made him appear soft. He used to mock guys who let themselves change for a partner, but even without Koemi here to tell him right from wrong, he was acting whipped. No, he had to prove the other wrong, for fear of it putting a stain on his reputation!

“Yeah? I think you meant to say Rooster, since I’m king of this coop.” He accepted the toy machete, and used it to motion towards the school building. The first year had always considered himself a wolf among the herd of sheep. These masked students had strayed from the path, and it was high time he put them back in their place.

“Creative thinking, I like it.” A few good practice swings left Kou comfortable with his new plastic weapon. He was ready to tackle his quest. “A hunting I will go. Watch and learn!” The disguised male tapped a finger towards his temple, before heading sneakily in the direction of his ‘comrades’ in spooks.

From the shadows he counted five masked students: Five people to scare. It would be easy to pick them off one by one, since the group's topic of conversation mentioned splitting up to cover more ground. Every horror movie buff knew that was the worse move in the book. Kou took advantage of their bad decision to jump scare his first target- the one student who hung back to fix their mask.

[Hiro]

He snorted at the rooster reply. King of the chickens, huh. He smirked at the next bit though. He did have creative thinking, even if it wasn't always in the right place, honestly. He watched Kou go to scare the scarers... amused at the juxtaposition of the situation. It was probably for the best, though Hiro really did have an itch to scare that group of girls.

While Kou went to scare the poor soul that hung back to fix their mask, Hiro made his way toward the group of girls, hiding here and there... like a cheetah or tiger, crouching low, waiting for their prey to make the wrong move at the right time. One of the girls was about to turn around, the timing was perfect, and he jumped out. Several high pitched screams were heard as the girls scrambled away from each other, splitting up like roaches in light. He had his sights on one particular girl who stood like a deer in headlights. "Boo!" He exclaimed. The girl screamed, as if it were a delayed response, then scrambled away while Hiro laughed to himself.

He pocketed his hands, job done, then headed back to see how the other student did with scaring the scarers. He took off the mask as he walked, pushing a hand through his hair to ruffle it back into place.
