Sunako was feeling lonely. She thought she would be seeing her friend at the aquarium on one of her few free days off, but of course, said friend had an interview scheduled that she forgot about. The downfalls of being friends with a popular idol, she concluded. But she was already here, and the baby beluga wasn't gonna stay a baby forever, right? As she looked at the poster, she thought of sending the photo for her friend, but maybe her friend would think she was being petty when she was doing important things for work.

She headed into the aquarium, looking for the beluga exhibit...but, where was it, exactly? Even as she looked at the map, it was a bit confusing to read...

Akemi

[Akemi]

It was the fifth time already. Since she got in the aquarium —only one hour ago— Akemi had already stopped five times to look at other things, forgetting entirely about her main objective in the place: the baby beluga presentation. After stopping to look around the gift shop, stopping by two different water tanks and helping one kid find their mother, Akemi now found herself staring at the jellyfish tank, hypnotized by the way the translucent beings swimmed in the water, almost like they were floating amidst air. She had already forgotten about the main event of the day —again— when she heard some people around her talking about the baby beluga. Worried that she would be late for the event, Akemi started to look for some map sign so she could find where to go… and where she was! Just now Akemi realized that her wandering led her to get lost.

Not finding any sign around, Akemi became more concerned that maybe she wouldn’t find the event’s place. When she decided to ask someone if they knew where the beluga aquarium was, Akemi saw someone with a pamphlet of the aquarium, the kind that had the place’s map. Akemi smiled at the chance of getting some information and meeting new people in the process and walked towards the girl.

“Hello.” Akemi greeted when she was close enough. “Sorry to bother, but I’m kinda lost and I thought you could help me a bit.” She asked pointing at the map in the slightly shorter girl’s hands.

[Sunako]

Suna turned to the girl asking her for direction and was surprised to see that she was taller than her. The voice sounded like she was younger - then again, Suna had a pretty deep voice for a girl, so maybe she wasn't the best judge. Onto the map she was holding...now that she looked at it, she found where the belugas were held at around the back of the building. She wasn't sure how she missed such a huge sign in the map.

"Looks like you just go through this hallway, make a left, then go straight up again...it's in the back, probably since they're a bigger sea mammal," she replied. They weren't whale sized but it was mostly fish, turtles, and a few sharks in this place. "Do you want to follow me? I was going to that exhibit anyway. I've never seen a baby beluga in real life," she said. Although she wasn't crazy about sea animals or anything, she did like the bigger whale-like animals. "I'm Minamoto Sunako, or Suna for short. What's your name?"

[Akemi]

“I would love to!” She exclaimed, clapping her hands together in excitement before pausing and pouting a little in thought. “But are you sure I wouldn’t bother you? I don’t wanna be a problem.” She asked while rubbing her cheek nervously. Of course Akemi would love some company, especially if said company could lead her to the beluga exhibit, but she didn’t even know if she was interfering with the girl’s plans for the day.

“I’m Nakamura Akemi.” She bowed her head slightly, an habit from when she was a kid and had to be formal with her parent’s colleagues that stuck with her until nowadays. “Nice to meet you Suna.”

[Sunako]

Suna smiled. The taller girl seemed friendly, which usually meant they talked more. So less awkward grabbing of conversation topics for her. "Oh, don't worry about it. I wasn't supposed to be alone, but my friend had...work." She shifted her eyes to the wall. "But I came anyway. Though I'd see the beluga baby while it was still young?"

She smiled a little. "Nakamura-san, huh? You wouldn't happen to go to Seiyo, would you?" she asked. It seemed like a safe question to ask while they headed toward the exhibit.

[Akemi]

“Ah, yes. Thought due to some family issues I’ve been kinda of slacking with the studies…” Akemi answered shyly, her parents were already worried about her grades and having a reminder that she could be studying at the moment was a little unnerving. “You’re from Seiyo as well? What a coincidence!” Akemi walked a little bit forward to maintain eye contact with Suna while making a small talk. “That friend of yours study there too? It’s a shame they couldn’t be here today, but I guess the beluga will stay in exhibition a little longer right? I bet you’ll have more chances to come here with them!” She finished positively.

[Sunako]

"Oh...I'm sorry about that," she said. She'd thankfully never gone through something like that herself, but she knew people who had. "I heard there's a math club that can help you, if you need that. An acquaintance of mine runs it, so I can ask where they meet up." The two of them passed through some hallways with various exhibits from jellyfish to whales. Maybe she could go see some later? "Mm...uh? Oh yeah." Suna was not the best at eye contact herself, but smiled at the new girl.

"I'm a second year there. ...oh, my friend," she said, "...she went to Seiyo in her first year, but...she has to travel around these days, so she's homeschooled now." She knew Chiyo, as a popular idol, would probably like more privacy these days. "I hope so. I hope it's before the baby beluga isn't a baby anymore..."

She sighed. She was happy for Chiyo, really, but she did really miss her friend. But for now, she should probably help the girl find the beluga exhibit. According to her map, she just needed to follow the hallway....oh.

As she approached the exhibit, it seemed like a ton of other people were there too, waiting. "...well...I think we found it?" she asked. The question now was, would they be able to get in?
