Stormy Panic

+ Description: A storm has knocked out the power in the school building shortly after classes have ended for the day; it seems to nasty outside to leave, though the building is pretty deserted, save for one or two other people who got stuck.
+ Stay put, wait out the storm: -1 Guardians, +2 Faberge
+ Venture out to try to get the power back on: +1 Guardians, +1 Faberge
+ Sneak into the staff room while no one’s around: -2 Guardians, +1 Roost
+ Look for someone else who may be stuck: +2 Guardians, -1 Roost

Kouya let out a long, drawn out groan as he stood at the building's entrance, watching the rain pelt down violently. Did this really have to happen today? Of all days? Today when he really just wanted to get back to his dorm and do nothing for awhile? The one day he decided to stay behind to avoid the crowds, it began raining like this. From what he could tell, it seemed like everyone else left for home or their dorms already, leaving him there alone. Kouya weighed his options. He could either head back and risk getting soaked, which would in turn require him to wash and dry his uniform. He could probably stay there and wait things out, but then the food in the mess hall would probably be gone by the time he made it out. The situation was dire. 

Just as Kouya thought that, the lights flickered. Another second and they flickered again. At this point, Kouya thought he was in one of those cliche highschool horror movies, but when the lights went out completely, he was sure that he was definitely in a cliche highschool horror movie. The power didn't really bother him, but his growling stomach did. He weighed his options again. 

Wet and soggy? Not fun. Dry and hungry? Not fun either. Kouya spent his thinking time pacing down the building's corridors, until a sign caught his eye. Staff Room. That seemed fun--

[Daichi]

One poor Daichi Fujiwara had fallen asleep toward the end of class. When he awoke he found he slept though the dismissal bell, and no one bothered too wake him up. Cursing to himself, he threw all his notebooks and homework into his bag and rushed out of the classroom. He rushed down the stairs stopping part way to look out the window and look at the storming clouds in the sky swirl and shower. " Oh Shit." There was no way he would be able to make it to the dorms with out getting soaked. His clothes weren't really the problem. He could deal with wet clothes, his notebooks on the other hand...

He sighed and continued down the stairs till he reached the bottom floor. He pulled out his phone to check the time, how late was it anyway? He would have an idea if his phone hadn't died. " Greatttt..." He complained. " Well it could be worse." He kept walked along the hallways, he couldn't be the only stuck here right? There had to be someone else, maybe? The lights flickered overhead. Once, twice, and there goes the power. Didn't the school have a back up that was suppose to come on? Then again that could have been the back up that just died- Daichi turned a corner and saw someone else wondering the halls.

He sighed relieved at least he wasn't the only one. Still it was dark in the hallways, he wasn't sure it if was a student or a teacher. But did it really matter? They were stuck he just like him. He walked toward the figure. He called out to them as he drew closer. " Hey!"

Kouya was frozen as soon as he heard the voice, and part of him just immediately assumed that it was a teacher catching him trying to go into the teacher's office. His hand was already on the handle as he turned towards whoever called out to him. From what he could tell, it was...another student? Maybe not...maybe it was? There wasn't much light besides the faint light from inside the teacher's office that was barely escaping through the small window. Kouya briefly wondered how those lights were still on before the figure got closer. He stayed silent, still too caught up in nerves to really say anything until the proximity eventually forced words out of him.

"Hey?" It came out as a quiet question, but then again, it might as well be? Now that the guy was closer, he could make out the school uniform, and Kouya's nerves calmed. Okay, so not a teacher trying to stop him from going in the Teacher's office. "Who are you?" was the only other question he managed, his hand still gripping the door handle and slowly pushing it open. He probably could've asked a better question like, 'how'd you get stuck here?' or 'do you know how to get the power back on?', but Kouya wasn't that good at thinking things up right on the spot.

[Daichi]

A student? Daichi could now faintly make out his appearance thanks to the light from the office. Wait uh, That is the teachers office right? He raised a brow. So why was this guy- " Oh, uh, I'm Daichi Fujiwara. " He answered. " And you?" He asked as he eyed the student. He adjusted his bag strap that weighted against his back. " I figured you're waiting for the storm to pass too right?" He wondered why the other male has stuck here anyway. Maybe just bad luck like himself-

Wait, wait ,wait, don't forget the fact that the dude is, what looks like he's breaking into the Staff office. He guessed maybe they wanted to get to the staff room due to the light being on, or they could have some other intentions. Daichi wasn't one to judge right off the bat. At least until they could state their case. " You mind if ask what you're doing?" He asked wanting to know the the reasoning, before his mind jumped to any more conclusions.

Again, Kouya didn't reply immediately, the heavy Office door creaking loudly as he pushed it further open. He had a foot in the door by the time he remembered to answer, "Daichi, oh uh, I'm Kouya, Toyonobu, Kouya..." Kouya still didn't look back to the other student, but once he heard the rest of the question, he paused.

"I'm not doing anything--" he said it as if he weren't doing anything wrong, but honestly speaking, Kouya didn't think he was doing anything wrong. Or at least his intentions were good. The light inside flickered eerily, but that didn't stop Kouya from stepping further inside. He held the door open behind him, expecting Daichi to follow him in. Kouya had yet to properly explain what he was doing. It didn't occur to him that what he was doing probably broke a few school rules, and it also didn't occur to him that Daichi could possibly not approve of going in? He didn't think of any of that. He was just focused on doing...a little exploring? Yeah, that's a good word for it.

"Aren't you coming in?"

[Daichi]

" Oh, Nice to meet you Kouya." He wasn't doing anything? So did that mean he didn't have ill motives or- Of course As soon as Kouya stepped into the room Daichi weighed his options. Hang outside in the dark somewhat spooky hallway, Alone... Or hang out in the teacher office with some light and an not so scary atmosphere? Yeah, Staff office sounded a lot better. As long as he didn't take anything, and they didn't get caught everything would be fine right? He was making excuse to validate the fact he may have been breaking school rules, he knew he was.

Welp, Fuck it right? " Right behind ya." He said following the taller male. " I guess I'm an accessory to a crime now." He partly joked. Daichi thought about how it got too this point. He had fallen asleep in class, missed the bell, ended up stuck inside the school while waiting for the storm to pass. Met someone else stuck and now he was 'breaking'' into the staff room with said random student. What a strange day.

Kouya neglected to mention his motives, too busy peering around the room already. The fluorescent light was dim and only one seemed to be working, flickering in and out in the gloom of the room. He flipped a switch on a nearby wall, though it didn't seem to have any effect on the lights. There was a whirring sound from somewhere that came on, maybe air conditioning? But definitely not lights.

Kouya ignored the lights and moved on exploring. It was probably obvious by now, but he wasn't exactly the best company. He was quiet and didn't look behind him to check on Daichi, instead staying focused on whatever it was he was looking for. He recognized the office since...he's been pulled into it plenty of times by now. Teachers always felt the need to talk about him missing class or not paying attention or skipping the work or...you get the idea. Kouya knew his way around the place.

They reached the section of the office where each the teachers' desks and workspaces were lined up, but the scene looked cluttered. Kouya made a beeline for a specific desk and immediately began opening drawers until he found what he was looking for. Sure, the place was dark and it was honestly hard to see what he was doing, but Kouya made a triumphant sound, probably the loudest he'd be that night.

There was a crinkle of a bag and a crunch. He found...chips? He turned around and gave Daichi that same triumphant look and offered him the bag.
"Teacher confiscated them from me last week...glad he kept them around," he said between crunches.

[Daichi]

Upon entering the teachers office Daichi stood near the closed door, just at the right angle to look out the tiny door window. Keeping guard just in case, you know? Glaceing around the room he didn't see anything really interesting. Or nothing he could see in the dim light. Not wanting to take part in snooping and also having to reason to do so he leaned against the wall. He watched the taller teen head straight to a desk and start digging around. The writer wondered what he was looking for. Grade book? Phone? He assumed it was something like that.

When he caught the sight of Kouya looking oh so pleased with a bag of chips in hand, he couldn't help but laugh. " Thats what you came in here for?" He had this guy all wrong, getting back a bag of chips from a teachers desk was harmless. At least in Daichi's book it was. They must have been very good chips. " I was expecting you to do something else." He said honestly.

"Something else?" Kouya asked, already holding up another chip to his mouth and nibbling on a corner. What would he do? Frankly speaking, he couldn't bring himself to really care about doing bad stuff, but he did have some opinions on what was considered bad. For one thing, he didn't think having chips during class was bad. Kouya just thought the teacher had it out for him. The chips never did anything wrong.

"Did you think I was going to break into a teacher's desk and...do bad stuff?" he asked quietly, but he held the bag out to Daichi again, shaking it and insisting he take one, "There's nothing to do in here...unless there's more confiscated stuff..." that might've been a good idea, but maybe that was pushing it...The idea was tempting--nah.

"I'm a good kid," he said nonchalantly and shrugged his shoulders. That wasn't completely true, maybe, since he didn't show up to class often enough to have a good reputation. As he spoke, there was another clap of lightning, but...an absence of rain? Was it still thundering? Was it still raining?

"You think the rain's died down yet?"

[Daichi]

" Not necessarily bad. I was thinking you were gonna getting back a phone or something..." He confessed. Before glaceing at the bag of chips and giving a slight dismissive wave." Thanks, but im good. Those are all yours." He paused. " If you say you're a good guy, i'll believe you." He said smiling slightly. He didn't really want to just put him into a category of 'good' or 'bad' People were way too complex to just do something like that.

If he said he was good and he partly believed it, then Daichi would too. Then the clap of thunder that scared the shit out of Daichi. He jumped being caught of guard. He hadn't really been paying attention to the other lightning; He was to busy focused on Koyua and talking. Calming back down after the small fright he listened for any rain. He hear some but not a lot. Certainly not as bad as it was a little bit ago. 

" I'm not sure..." Daichi opened the door and began to step out. " Let's check." He said keeping a hand on the door to push it back and allow Kouya to pass through.

Kouya closed the desk drawer he opened with a kick, ignoring the boom and clatter it echoed through the teachers' room. He didn't react to Daichi's fright, since well, he let the guy save some face. It wasn't his place to judge anyone that was scared of thunder, and who knows? Maybe they have good reason to.

He followed Daichi through the door and the two made their way through the same hallways from earlier. There was still a quiet patter of rain from outside, but from what it looked like through the windows, the rain definitely died down. There was still the occasional clap of thunder, but they could survive that. It wasn't like any of them were walking lightning rods, right? If they ran now, they'd only be minimally damp rather than hurricane-levels soaked.

Tutting his tongue in thought and tucked his chips in his sweater's pocket as they neared the front entrance of the school building. This was definitely a survivable level of rain. Turning to Daichi, Kouya already had a hand on the door.

"Ready to make a break for it?"
