Luck was finally on Yuki's side.

The extra class he was supposed to do was gloriously cancelled due to the teacher's wife giving birth! And while said teacher told him it was just 'postponed', it didn't matter because this day was supposed to be his day off from Faberge stuff, and now he had a whole entire day to do absolutely nothing. Praise the gods. Praise the timing. Praise that baby for wanting to get the heck out of his mama's womb on this day!

Since it'd been a while, he headed downtown to check out places to eat. Though, he wish he wasn't eating by himself. As some of his friends had either left the school or...weren't feeling well, he thought that he probably should make new friends. Sure, he had some people he knew in Faberge, but many were already out of school. But that wasn't important. What was important was food. And that food came in the form of a pretty decent sized ramen place.

"And dad said to stake out the competition, too, right?" he asked no one in particular. He walked right into the place, smelling the broth right as he walked in. This was going to be a great day.

Uniform? Check! Big smile for the customers? Check!

"Asuka is ready and reporting for duty!" the girl had announced to her father, who gave a small laugh before continuing to tend to the broth.

Classes might've just ended barely half an hour ago but Asuka was already at her father's shop, rearing to help around the store. It wasn't a particularly busy time of the day, but it never dampened her enthusiasm as she continued to wipe the counter with extreme speed, almost knocking over the stack of utensils. Hearing the noren rustling from the entrance, she whipped around, ready to greet the newcomer.

Making a mad dash over before the other staff could react, Asuka gave a small bow and attempted to peek over the taller boy's shoulder to see if there were others.

"Welcome! Table for one, yes? This way, this way!" she exclaimed excitedly; you'd think that the boy was a celebrity by the way she gestured almost wildly towards an empty seat at the counter. Earning a stern look from her father for her over-enthusiasm, she responded with a small sheepish smile before handing the newcomer a menu.

Trying not to seem overly excited to see a schoolmate, she chirped, "What would you like today?"

Not that his mother who doubled as the cashier wasn't charming in her own way, but this girl's energy was only matched by one person he'd met in his life - and she might actually have more than him. He was having some small moe attacks as he got into his seat. He hadn't hit on anyone in a while, but maybe - just this once - he could humor himself. And hopefully not get whacked.

"I think I'd like the lady in front of me, thank you," he said, grinning at her. But then he stopped. Huh. This used to be fun, but now he just felt wrong about it. His sister's lectures might be getting to him after all. Before it got too awkward, however, he just laughed it off. "Sorry. You are cute, though. Anyway, just the house special and some hot tea will do."
