An X-egg situation? Multiple X-eggs? With only one real experience in handling these things, why not take on a bunch of them? He thought he got the gist of things already, what to do to handle these things. Furthermore, being one with two guardian characters, maybe he could mix things up a bit? Anyway, it's best to get out there so he can get more experience. Plus, he wouldn't want a bunch of X-eggs bothering the Faberge members in the building.

Meeting Sasaki Hana again, he never really knew too much about her. He's been keeping to his own business, after all. He hasn't really talked to her much since he joined Faberge. Maybe he still felt a bit bad for what he did, even if that was just watching Yasuko do her thing and make off with her journal, he still felt like he might have done something that prevents him from being able to approach her.

Well, he's glad at least that he isn't really working alone to take care of this problem. There's Ai. But the thing about this guy, is that he could go out of control, no mercy mode while changed or transformed. He's not a bad guy, not at all. But he could do with a bit more restrain when it comes to dealing with trouble. No, scratch that. A moderate amount of restrain. He hoped that working together again this time, they'd have better teamwork.

Honestly, after what happened at Tanabata, Ai hoped he wouldn't have to deal with x-eggs again. But well, having a guardian character kind of made it impossible for him not to. The boy wasn't afraid of the x-eggs themselves... but more of himself. His transformation was very temperamental and thus unpredictable. He could hurt someone innocent if they stood in his way, just like he did at the festival. Demi suggested training to improve his focus, but he didn't really have time to do that. Instead, he just tried to convince himself that he wouldn't have to fight again. Boy was his assumption wrong.

Upon being summoned at the Faberge building by his dearest mentor Sasaki-san, Ai went there right away to check whether there was anything wrong. And apparently... there was, just not what he expected. It wasn't just one x-egg, but lots of them. What? Part of him felt proud that Sasaki san trusted him enough to entrust him with this mission, but the other side of him wanted to just leave it to someone else. But he couldn't just run away from this forever, Ai knew it all too well. At this point, he wished he'd taken the idea of training more seriously.

That's right, he needed to do his best for Sasaki san. She thought of him because he was one of the strongest and most capable recruits, so he shouldn't disappoint her. And besides, he wasn't alone. His friend Shun would be there in case something happened and he lost control. The boy managed to save the situation both when he fought bullies the first time they met and at Tanabata, when he healed the X-egg. And one thing Ai trusted his transformation with was that it would never hurt his precious friends. "Well, Shun, I guess this is it." He spoke up to his friend. "I don't know why I feel like I have to say this now but... Apologies... in advance."

There was a darkness.

Though the evening had settled over the streets of Otonoki, sending the Faberge building into a flurry of lights, its back alleys remained cast into the shadows by the surrounding buildings that towered above. One, maybe two lights might twinkle from their overheads here and there, but none strong enough to illuminate or cast lights down into their depths.

And from those depths there sat something even darker; black, murky, radiating an uncomfortable energy that could be felt from even several blocks away.

They were in a particularly thin alleyway, with a dividing fence and crowded with a number of dumpsters, trash cans, discarded boxes, and packing material. The energy seemed nestled into one of those boxes--but with the stacks topped higher than most people were tall, and in rows as long as the alley itself, it was hard to tell. The entire area had been cloaked in a heavy, black mist.

But there were whispers that felt as if they came from all directions; echoing ominously as their voices reverberated off of the tall surrounding walls. It was hard to tell just how many of them there were, especially with them all softly repeating themselves, over and over again.
