After looking through the crowd, he finally saw Yasuko going through the crowd - right before Yasuo hugged her really tightly. He laughed, but he was just glad she wasn't lost, or...well, he was sure Yasuo would go nuts and rip out this festival to find her. That's just the feeling he got from him, anyway. Now that the three of them were together, they finally put up the joint wish to for everyone's dreams. After that, there was only the last wish to put up, the one that Yasuko found earlier. As he did so, he saw that Yasuko was also putting up her own wish. When did she write one?
Nah, it'd be impolite to look. Yasuko saw his on accident, and so he wanted to apologize to her for being so abrupt about it. He put his own wish and tied it up, and then let others put up their wishes.
He walked up to Yasuko to say goodbye, thinking she'd probably be with (or ignoring) her brother, but instead, she was alone, watching the wishes drift in the wind. She was spaced out again, similar to the way she looked at his own wish earlier. A particular wish popped out of him. The words were similar to his own. ...was it hers?
He wished he could take a picture of this. Something about her expression, all the wishes on the tree, the night sky in the background...he wanted to remember this moment for a long time.
But then someone tapped his shoulder.
"Guess who?"
He turned, and saw his mother, along with his father and sister. She was still a little withdrawn today, but she smiled a little when Yuki looked back at them.
"Come on, let's make some wishes this year," his dad said, weaving through the crowd with Suna behind him. His mom, on the other hand, stayed put with Yuki.
"It's lively as usual, isn't it?" she said. She smiled, looking up in the tree, when her expression changed to an O shape. Yuki followed, but only saw Kanpa coming back down. It's not like his mom could see that, right? "With all these beautiful girls everywhere! You didn't hit on any of them this year, did you?"
"Ah, come on mom," he said, pushing her lightly toward the tree, "Don't get distracted by the beauty and make your own wish now, all right?"
"Yes, yes," she replied, just laughing as she went ahead. Yuki glanced one more time at the girl, and traced the outline of the trees and the wishes and the girl with her finger.
It'd been a long time since he'd wanted to draw like this.
