The air outside the dorms was brimming with an oppressive heat, pressing thickly against her skin and filling her lungs like mud. The weather caused her to grimace, instantly dashing her hopes that the disappearing sun would cause the campus to cool to a more comfortable temperature. Still, it was honestly better than being cooped up in her dorm room for the night; a sudden bout of homesickness balled together with pure anxiety. Fara all but kicked her out so she could sleep. Despite herself, Wakana felt a light smile pull at her lips. At least the little guardian had the sense to make sure she wasn’t outside in her pyjamas.
What to do now..?
Wakana took tentative steps forward, her toned leg relishing in the rare freedom of not being covered by concealing fabrics. Her jean shorts were high-waisted, far shorter than she usually prefered, but she found the light blue fabric too cute to resist. It helped that they didn’t make a fuss around her prosthetic leg, for all that it showed it’s metal glory. Oh, and it also was the opposite of being hot. Her hesitance melted away at the quietness of the school around her, nothing but the sound of bugs and the thumps of her own footsteps. It was rather strange seeing the campus so devoid of life, lacking as it was in the usual hum of life. With a small hum, she glanced up toward the sky, marveling at the stars. Or rather, the lack of stars. Growing up in an extremely small town, far from any city really changes one’s perspective on the view. It was still beautiful though. Wakana always loved the sky.
A small tick of movement in the corner of her eyes distracted her, drawing the teen’s attention to the watchtower of the school. Like lightning, an idea struck. The clocktower would probably have a good view, right? Her hand drifted to her back pocket where her wallet, and a certain key card rested. It wasn’t really trespassing if you had a key, right? With a shrug, Wakana gave a little tug to one of the short curls that tickled her cheek before veering off the path to continue her goal.
