It was really by complete chance that she stumbled upon her pen-pal on Twitter. It had been a good few months since they had last exchanged letters and though it started off rocky, they warmed up to each other in the end. Remembering the exchange made the first-year chuckle at some of the replies she got. Especially about the other's wish of wanting to learn cooking.
Basing on her profile picture, her pen-pal was a foreign girl. A girl with blonde hair and...what seemed to be an English-sounding name? Could she be from the US or the UK? Or Australia even? Yasuko barely met any foreigners, and so far, the ones she did meet were actually all half-Japanese in one form or another. In some ways though, she was kind of excited to see a blonde. Wasn't that how most Caucasians look like? Blonde hair and blue eyes? TThough she wasn't sure what colour eyes the other had.
Right, this was probably getting a tad creepy.
She wondered though how the other was doing. The last time that they had exchanged letters, it was over the other's desire to want to join the cooking club. Did she eventually made it to the cooking club at one point? ...Then again, the cooking club seemed to have an uncanny ability to start a few fires, so maybe it wasn't quite so bad if her pen-pal hadn't joined in the end.
Maybe it was time for a catch-up perhaps?
Something normal...a normal thing to do within all of this egg mess. Yasuko shook her head. She didn't want to think about what happened over the last few days.
She sent a quick PM over Twitter.
Hey M E,
It's been a while. Since we now know who each other are, maybe you would like to meet up sometime? I'm free after school today.
Sincerely,
Writer
The two of them already knew each other's names, but she just wanted to treat it like it was one of their letters just for the fun of it. After all, they actually hadn't truly met in person yet.
