Daichi really wasn't into manga or anime all that much in all honesty. Normally the boy was more into reading the written world of heroes and adventures. Not so much the-- drawn world, of heroes and adventures. He never found anything that really clicked or even made sense to him. The male found most the manga a bit cliched, there wasnt anything wrong with that-- however when you have to many cliches it makes it hard to read. Maybe he was just picky, who knows. Though recently he did end up getting into a certain manga called Boku no Hero Academia. Only for the soul reason he liked how the story revolved around the whole class full of kids trying to learn to be heroes. They had their own protagonist, but all of them were front and center too in the story and not just bland background characters. So yeah he was a sucker for that.

He found himself in the store on a whim to get a few physical copy's of the book rather then read it online. Walking into the store and looked to- who he assumed was owner, who was manning the counter. He gave a head nod and proceeded to wander of to the shelf's. Taiki the boy's guardian character followed closely behind him. As Daichi browsed over the manga, he felt a unnerving feeling in the back of his mind. He didn't really feel like buying anything anymore. The young hero did however start scouting the store for the source of this very familiar feeling.

On the other hand, you had Yuki, self proclaimed ladykiller who...loved shonen manga and sentai shows more than anything else. Not that you would ever hear it from him. There was a reason why he never invited anyone to his house - his room was filled with small figurines of superhero figures, posters, and bookshelves of manga. But what kind of cool guy would he be if he kept gushing over every chapter that Jump came out of his favorite series!

So when he went to his normal anime store, he always came in disguise, wearing a gray hoodie and matching sweats, not bothering to do his hair, or wear his earrings or hair clips. And oh yeah, he wore glasses. Most people didn't know that he was slightly near sighted because he got contacts as soon as he found out he needed glasses. But he had a pair that he wore at home and when he went out to this particular store.

At first, as he walked into the store, he browsed normally. His mom had been bothering him to not spend so much - mainly because his dad was into the same things that he was and it would distract him from bills - but he always came home with one more manga.

He waved hello to the store manager, who he'd known for a few years, but his expression was a bit odd. For one, he was usually happy to see him (probably because Yuki was 10% of his sales), but today he wasn't greeting him with the enthusiasm he was so used to.

"Hey, are you all right? ...wait, I know. It's because Yuuya's in a coma, isn't it? That bastard author! He just got his weapon Bapposokugen upgraded to its Z form! Just because he isn't the main character doesn't mean he..."

He trailed off. No response, huh? He just backed away. He didn't seem like he had a heart attack or anything, right?

"Let me out, Yukiya-dono!" exclaimed a voice from his bag. After looking around, he opened the bag and a spiky, silver haired guardian character came out. "To think that I would see battle once more...my blood burns! Let's attack!"

"Attack? Attack who, the manager?" he asked. That was just ridiculous. He knew this guy. Unfortunately he didn't know that another boy was in the store, so he just talked loudly as he normally would with this guardian character. "Aren't you supposed to attack bad guys?"

"It's not the manager, but...something else. Something...evil and dark and stuff," he said, going above Yuki and looking around for the source of evil darkness. But the little character did find something else, and pointed it out to Yuki. "Oh! Comrades! They can be part of our crew! Hello!"

Yuki wanted to seep into a hole and die hearing someone else was here, but the disguise should help. And frankly since he was new to this whole egg business, he could probably get all the help he could get. He headed toward the direction of this supposed 'comrade', hoping Kanpa wasn't involving someone who couldn't see him...

The owner of the small shop hadn't been himself lately. Though it wasn't uncommon for him to become completely involved with a new episode or a rare series, his latest actions had been completely out of character. Those that were new to the shop would notice a strange, distant and depressed look in his eyes. The more regular customers would be worried - possibly even offended - by his strange behavior. Whatever had happened to the manager made him an entirely new person.

Those with their own Heart's Eggs would know the truth. Masked behind a worried frown and furrowed brows was an empty hole. His own dream seemed to be missing, its sudden disappearance unnoticed by all but the store's most valuable patrons.

It didn't help of course that by the back, towards the shonen DVD section, in between two sets of classic Jojo tapes was a strange black sprite. It jumped on the buttons of the remote, switching between rewinding and forwarding the tape as it sang along to the familiar tune of the opening. There were more CDs scattered on the floor from previous seasons, boxes stacked high to create a strange fortress.

Wherever the manager's heart had gone was a mystery, but the appearance of an X-character was never a coincidence. It was eager for battle and as it sensed the two Seiyo students approach, it hid inside the shelves and cackled.
