Egging Out

+ Description: You keep spotting painted eggs all around campus--just sitting here and there for decoration. No one seems to know anything about them, or where they came from--even members of the school’s staff. Their patterns are similar to Heart’s Eggs; maybe there’s a connection?

+ Investigate the eggs themselves: -2 Guardians, +1 Faberge, +1 Roost

+ Ask Kirishigi-sensei about the eggs: +2 Guardians, -1 Faberge, -1 Roost

+ Paint some eggs to add to the collection: +1 Guardians, +2 Faberge, +1 Roost

+ Steal or vandalize the eggs: -2 Guardians, -2 Faberge, -1 Roost

+ Requirements: Tag for an Admin to do the thread’s closing post, or to mod if asking Kirishigi-sensei.

The campus of Seiyo Academy was far more beautiful than Wakana had imagined it to be. It was also far larger than any other school she had gone to previously on the base where she had lived most of her life. There was plenty of space to explore, and even more so to just be alone if need be. Wakana smiled contently, the sun warm against her skin while she laid sprawled out on the grass just a few meters from the dorms. The weather was pleasant today, fitting for the first day of classes of a new school, in a new area far from home. It was just the right temperature for a nap, so she thought, but the impending call of school loomed too deep in the background of her mind. With a grand sigh, Wakana rolled over onto her stomach and content to pout before her eyes caught sight of a brightly colored object hidden just out of sight from someone looking from above. 

"Hm..? What's this?"

She rose to her feet, brushing off invisible strands of grass before reaching down to pick up her bag to get a closer look at the object. The branches of the bush scratched at her arms annoyingly, as if telling her to stop reaching for the mystery entombed in its protection. Her hand met the cool smoothness of the object, clutching it carefully as she pulled it free from its resting place to get a good look at it. What she saw surprised her.

..A egg?

 

 

[Akemi]

The campus was beautiful, yes, Akemi couldn’t deny it, but the fact the place was so big was intimidating. She already had problems memorizing tasks, let alone remembering every location in such a huge place. With that in mind she decided to spend some of her free time knowing the new environment.

Now here she is, walking on a grass field not so far from the dorms, her original task forgotten as she enjoyed the nice weather, basking in the warm sunrays while walking peacefully without a destiny. Her soothed state came to an end when she noticed someone on the grass not to far from where she was standing. Deciding that approaching someone new was just as good as knowing the campus, Akemi moved closer to the person, who now seemed to be crouched on the ground, looking at something.

“Hey, what are you doing?”

[Wakana]

Wakana jumped at the sudden voice, just barely holding in a strangled yelp as her heart raced to the speed of light leaving her hands with the faintest of tremors. "An egg," she replied, turning a little from her place on the ground and opening her hands to show the voice. "I found it hidden in the bushes here." With an awkward grace, she stood up carefully and adjusted her leg, uncomfortably aware of the eyes watching her as she moved. "It's kind of pretty." she murmured as her thumbs traced the designs lightly. "But who would leave this here?" Was it a leftover from an egg hunt of some kind? She wasn't aware of Japan celebrating Easter at all. Perhaps a scavenger hunt instead? It reminded her of her own egg, tucked safely into her pillows in her dorm. Maybe there were more of them around? She was kind of curious to find out.

"Do you know anything about them..?" 

A look of realization crossed her face, before her cheeks reddened brightly. She gave a quick bow at the girl before introducing herself and actually looking at who she was talking to. "I'm Hall Wakana, pleased to meet you, Miss." 

Waa, she was really pretty!

[Akemi]

Akemi stared down at the decorated egg that was shown. She smiled at the pretty pattern that adorned it’s exterior, making it stand out in the hands of its holder. Talking about them, the girl started to stand up, the egg still on her hands as she kept explaining about it. Akemi kept eyeing the egg, somehow feeling attached to it, before focusing back to the girl in front of her who now seemed to have addressed a question towards Akemi.

“Ah? No, I’m sorry.” She eyed the egg again as if it would give the answer to the question before the girl in front of her decided to talk again, this time introducing herself.

“Wakana? That’s a pretty name! I’m Akemi, Nakamura Akemi.” She bowed slightly and smiled her trademark happy smile, already hoping for a good first impression before turning her attention to the egg once again.

“Now, about the egg…” She tapped her chin in thought. “Sorry, I really have no idea what it would be doing out here.” She bit the inside of her cheek before coming with a realization. “But if you want I could help you find more about it. I bet it could be fun!” She said smiling brightly, excited with her own idea.

[Wakana]

She was a little let down that Nakamura-san knew nothing about the eggs, but it wasn't all that surprising. It was a bit mysterious. "That's okay Nakamura-san, it's not a big deal." Wakana gave the girl a small smile, brushing the egg one last time before finding a sturdy area in the bush to set it back down. It was the perfect spot for the egg to be hidden unless looked at from a certain angle."I kind of like the mystery. Plus they're kinda cute, I wonder if there are more hidden around here." The last part trailed off as she glanced around, hoping to spot another one nearby.

"It reminds me of an Easter egg hunt." 

Wakana had participated in one of them when she was much younger with other military families one Easter on the base. It was fun finding the painted eggs, but the real joy was painting them with her family the night before. It had been a long time since she'd done anything remotely similar since the accident. She glanced at her hands, tugging at her skirt while her teeth chewed at her lip. Now that she turned down the girl, she wasn't sure what to say or do. Other than stand awkwardly in silence anyway.
