Thunder broke over the top of the school, rumbling enough to rattle the windows as rain thrashed hard against the panes. The school had been dark enough to start with, what with the sunlight shunned away by the rolling clouds, and many teachers having shut off their classroom lights for the day what with classes coming to an end. But when the power went out and killed all of the remaining lights, the darkness that blanketed the school felt as if it had multiplied in an instant. It wasn't, at least, too dark to see entirely, but it was dark enough to need a light.
Scout had been on her way to Lit club when the lights died, rounding the corridor to head toward the room she'd collected for them on the third floor. Thankfully it wasn't all that far off--she could just meander her way in there and wait out the storm before heading home (for there was no way in hell she was planning to get any of her things wet, thank you). It was awfully late in the day already, however, and she wondered if anyone would be around. As far as she was aware, the club was mostly made up of first years so far; would they be too afraid of a little thunder?
Amused at the thought, it sounded cute; first years in general were always cute. Even if there wasn't anyone around, though, she figured she could pull out her phone and read a bit, considering the location. But for now, she was trailing her way through the hall with the light on her phone guiding her way, heels clicking loudly as she rounded the corner and into the room, peeking the door open.
"Anybody home, braving the storm?"
