Stranger Danger

+ Description: A teen with a non-Seiyo uniform has been sighted watching the Sports Festival from the sidelines. He’s supposedly followed by an X-egg, and has been seen clenching an odd silver lock… what could it be?

Takeo had been struggling to keep on with the white team's pace as of lately: they had less members in their war lines, yet they were -kind of- kicking the red team's ass with such easiness, that it was embarrassing. The red team needed to give it out more if they wanted to get that free barbecue invitation! Would they really put themselves out to lose against some kids who jsut want to 'have fun with friends'? Takeo mused about the idea with a stern face, all while he did some stretching before one of the relay race events of the sports competition. His throat felt raspy, as he exhaled during his breathing exercises, maybe he would treat himself to an energy drink from the machines near the sport's building! Yeah, that sounded like a plan, and he made a sprint towards the edification before the race would commence.

But, color him surprised, he didn't know that students from other schools could come to watch Seiyo's sports festival.

A guy with a gakuran type of uniform caught his attention, something seemed to be off about him. It was only until Takeo's egg sense+ perceived the presence of an x egg, that he snapped out of the dizzy feeling of unfamiliarity. Ousuke, the guardian character who had been resting for the majority of the sports event, came out of his egg in a rush, clutching onto the handle of his might sword. The tiny sprite knew that something bad was about to happen, and advised his human to be prepared for the worst.

"Takeo, you should have some of that energy drink, now." The blond prince held onto the edge of his cape, in a position worth of a fencing warrior. "Your relay race is going to have to wait. We cannot let this person get close to the students..."

"But... Why is he here? How-- Is he from that so called school from the other side of the town?" Takeo opened the can of the energy drink, taking a long chug, having half of it in an instant.


ENERGY DRINK X1 (1 out of 2 uses)

"I recall the girl with the eyeglasses, Fukawa chan, telling you that they weren't selling train passes right now." The guardian sprite meditated about the problem, holding and tapping his chin with his tiny fingers. "It means that they can come in-- but currently, nobody from this side of Otonoki can go there." Worried about the possibilities ; Ousuke shook his head, ignoring his most cannibalistic instincts of survival. "We're going to fight against this guy!" He exclaimed, proudly, pointing at the figure in the distance with his sword.

A refreshed Takeo cracked his knuckles and snapped his neck. He rotated his shoulders as to warm up for a fight. "If we get called out about the character transformation; I can say it's for some play for the class. Yeah, I'm going to do that." Decided to purify the x energy menace, Takeo made his way to the gakuran wearing student. 

His heart was racing, both from the adrenaline of a good fight, and the anticipation upon the unknown. Takeo had fought a couple, if not a handful, of x egg enemies, but this was the first time that it involved somebody outside of Seiyo academy. As he came closer to the enemy student, his eyes detailed the shine of what seemed to be a lock. It wasn't a Ledda's one, however, those were golden and intricate in design. This one was silver, and a bit old looking. What could those locks do? He was dying to know.

[Juon]

The student had just been watching.

He was off to the side of the activity, a bit off from the bleachers where parents and media were sitting. Just standing, watching the goings-on with eyes that didn't seem to be able to fixate on anything in particular. He'd made no motion, no action, but kept looking around, as if searching for something and not having any luck at finding it.

The silver lock was clenched firmly in his fist, his fingers tight around the chain as the lock itself dangled at his side. It looked beaten-up and ready to break, but it still seemed functional, at least for now.

The X-egg, too, that hovered over his shoulder, seemed dormant. It was silent, unmoving, aside from its gentle floating bob. Though it still radiated in negative energy, the waves coming off of it seemed weaker than most X-eggs that were active on the prowl.

Neither the egg or the student made any motion as Takeo approached, seeming not even to notice until he had appeared nearby. The student turned a dull gaze toward him, seeming entirely disinterested, even as his stare turned to fixate upon the guy's Guardian Character.

Only one word was uttered.

"What?"

[Takeo]

For starters, he didn't expect such a...mellow reaction from an x egg user. His brows arched up, showing incredulous surprise back at the gakuran wearing student. Regardless, Takeo maintained his serious disposition, putting his hands on his pockets; thumbs out for the sake of confident body language, and looked down (or up?) at the despaired young man's eyes. He looked for any hint of hope behind those pupils. Any hint of a desire to get out of despair should be enough for him to go on.

No, he didn't need that. He would perform his job, regardless of connecting with this stranger or not.

"I'm going to cure that x egg of yours." He pointed at the dormant negative sprite with his eyes; using one of his index fingers to make it clearer. "What are you doing here, though? did you lose something? Maybe I can help you, while we're at it." While it could come off as sarcastic; Takeo's intonation was genuine. He meant to help the guy, in theory. He was aware that love was a way to help x eggs, and while he wasn't the most affectionate person, he could give a try to his empathy and sympathy. "I'm not letting you spread negativity around, so I won't keep my eyes off of you."

[Juon]

There wasn't much to be seen in his eyes at all.

"That would be an inconvenience," came his reply to the idea of curing. "You'd be better off not." His gaze seemed to harden and his grip around the chain on the lock tightened, especially as he fixated on the other's Guardian Character again. It appeared tough for him to focus on the guy's own face, rather than that of his little friend, there.

But at the question, he decided to cease interest in both, as he was inquired to recall why he was there--and his gaze scanned over the crowd again, only to appear unsuccessful. He scanned back, and then seemed satisfied for the moment.

An eyebrow raised at the offer of help, and he decided to focus back on Takeo. He seemed skeptical, especially at the other's tone--he wanted to help him?

A pause, as he gave the second-year another once-over in examination. "Take me to the Guardians," was his request, and in that, appeared to be his answer for Takeo's other questions. It was still a vague one, at best, but one thing was for certain, at least--this guy wasn't all that chatty, nor did he seem particularly interested in conversation.

[Takeo]

"Uh huh, I'm sure you wouldn't like that." Yeah, he had seen those empty eyes before. But, Irises void of any light or emotion were something he had seen on other type of people. This guy was being followed by an x egg, and that would be his, right? Takeo's fury had already mellowed down, thankfully, and it wasn't half as stressful to talk with the other, since he wasn't being prodded back with aggressiveness. Ousuke felt inhibited, naked and vulnerable, at the other guy's stare on him. His warrior spirit faltered, as he hid behind Takeo's earrings, like a shield.

Takeo mimicked the other's body language, raising his brows as well. "To the guardians..." He wasn't straight out going to tell the other where the hideout was located. While most people in Seiyo knew that the Guardians met up at the Planetarium; he couldn't risk of spreading too much info to a student from another school, a corrupted one, mind that.

"Uh, I guess I can help you out with that, but that'd be like walking the wolf to the sheep's lair, wouldn't it?" Takeo was two seconds away from undergoing a character transformation, so it was up to this other student to decide what would happen next. He started walking in an arbitrary direction, standing next to the gakuran wearing young man. "Follow me, this way. It's kind of a long walk from here to there, several obstacles from the sport's festival are scattered by. Hope you don't mind that." Many buildings stood tall before them, in the distance; one of them was the Planetarium.

At one point, however, when the two were far away enough from the public, Takeo performed his character transformation.

"ORE NO KOKORO, UNLOCK!"

Wrapping himself into a blinding halo of pink light, akin to staring directly at the sun. Dressed in garments akin to an European Prince's ceremonial uniform, the red team's captain summoned a sword made of light, out of thin air. "You x people don't like talking about your life's story, but you know that I was going to have to cure you, anyway." 

"Hup... 2... 3... 4" 

He chanted, evoking his buff movement, Warboys, to bring Ousuke's and his heart's closer together in the battle.

His voice, albeit monotone; carried a distinctive self-assured sound about it. "I'll take you to the Guardians after you're safe and sound. That, I can promise."

[Juon]

"An inconvenience," he repeated.

The other had gone on to ramble about detours and this and that, and frankly the stranger didn't have the least bit of interest; it was all just words to him with no meaning, filler that was wasting his time. Just so long as they got there, was all that mattered to him; whether they had to walk a mile or two feet, he had a purpose and he intended to see it through.

Regardless of whether or not this guy stood in his way.

He was not impressed by the Character Transformation; his face made no change whatsoever, his demeanor entirely unfazed. His fingers around the lock on the chain may have twitched, but there was no further indication that he had even so much as noticed the transformation performed in front of him.

"If your goal is to 'cure' me, it won't work," he guffawed, in what almost sounded like a laugh. "It's a waste of your energy to try."

His grip again tightened around the chain, other hand raising to toss his long bangs behind his ear in a habitual gesture. Two studs glimmered off the light of the bright, clear day overhead.

[Takeo]

It took him a while to understand what he was fighting against, but now, he'd get it. "Why do you insist on it being a waste-- oh." Takeo stopped his tracks to watch the situation with calm eyes for a moment. The lack of energy and emotion in the other; his eyes void of sentiment; the fact that the x egg wasn't hatched and looming over the other, speaking corruption and despair. "I see what you mean, now. My bad."

"My bad."

The guy with the gakuran was, according to Takeo's intuition, one of those kids whom had gotten their heart eggs broken. He knew where he had seen those eyes before: the girl from that evening by the library, digging a grave for her cracked heart's egg. A shiver and a cringe accompanied the thought of it, making Takeo's face grimace, as he looked at the x egg over his head. If he wasn't to cure him, he'd cure the corrupted egg.

Without saying much else, Prince Charming stood in a kendoka pose, preparing his body to perform his curing movement.

"Crazy little thing called love."

He murmured, staring at the tiny dormant x egg, before making a swift upwards movement with his light sword, sending a wave of light towards its shell.

[Juon]

"Hey now," he warned as the other shifted into a stance--was he still planning to cure the thing? From the gesture that was starting, he had a feeling this was what was happening, yes.

He couldn't allow that.

In a swift motion as the other started his murmur, the stranger spun, taking the egg in his hand, and tossing it forcibly across the sports field, into the open sky away from them; in the process, he was throwing himself right in front of Takeo's cure as he chucked the egg in the complete opposite direction.

The light sword of the cure phased right through him, and he continued in his momentum's spin to try and grab the other by the wrist, staring hard through him; though his eyes were still empty, something about his expression had hardened considerably, both sets of knuckles turned bright white.

"An in-con-ven-ience."

Unmoving for a moment, he then took a few lazy steps back after several had passed, swinging both his arms up as if trying to quell the other into some kind of a compromise as his expression softened back out into its previous jadedness. "I'll leave it here, if you take me to the Guardians."

[Takeo]

The retaliation from the other student came as a surprise to Takeo, who lost his balance for a second, as the other spun around and grabbed his wrist with a vicious grip. The previously void eyes stayed dark still, staring into Takeo's angered ones. The exception of this rule was a sudden hardened resolve in the other's sight.

As Takeo's sword of light passed through the other with no difficulty, causing no harm, whatsoever, Prince Charming's face twisted into a scowl, recognizing the problem at hand: he wasn't a corrupted heart's egg user. He didn't need to be saved, but the egg did. Takeo was furious, frustrated by the situation, but the only thing in his mind was to protect that wish, liked it or not, needed it or not, WANTED IT OR NOT.

Amused by his opponent's intentions, to protect the corrupted egg from being cured, Takeo gave the other a devilish grin. He was thirsty for action, and throwing some punches back and forth. He knew that it wasn't the right way to approach the situation, but if the other was going to get physical, so would he.

He watched the gakuran guy walk some steps back, but Takeo's eyes stayed fixated in the egg. He was obviously not going to let the other get away with keeping a corrupted egg in his possession.

"That works, but you're going to let me cure the egg first; only then, I'll take you to the guardians." He stated firmly, slowly, calmly for a change. "Otherwise, I'm going to have to break your face until you give me that egg." That wasn't very princely of him, was it? Takeo's heart had been growing more and more violent with the passion time. He still couldn't understand what drove his undying motivation to protect and cure heart eggs, but he seemed to be willing to go pretty far to achieve his goal.

[Juon]

The stranger gave nothing but a shrug.

"Break my face then."

The apathy on his face seemed to triple, and the deep bags under his eyes darkened considerably, shaded even further by his brow and accent by his deep-set stare.

"I don't care."

His posture didn't budge, his demeanor unfazed. He was like a statue; the look in his eyes certainly was lifeless enough. Finally, he offered a halfhearted shrug.

"I'll just break the egg."

The stranger broke gaze, then, and interest, it was feeling like, as well--he simply looked back over the crowd beyond, seeming still more interested in something that he was looking for, rather than the individual in front of him. Though it appeared like he had decided to disregard the other completely, he eventually spoke up again.

"Or I could just break yours."

[Takeo]

There wasn't quite an easier way to make Takeo lose control of his psyche, than with threatening the safety of a heart's wish. His character transformation grew weaker as he listened to the other's cutting words:

'I'll just break the egg'

It echoed in his head, which was emptied aside from those horrid... Thoughts! There was an acoustic room inside of him, because Takeo could FEEL the words spreading across his veins and very muscles, which, just as his character transformation, became weaker too. His knees faltered him for a second; taking one step away from the other.

'I'll just break the egg'

It repeated in his head, louder, clearer. Takeo swallowed a deep, grossed out lump clogging his dry throat. Such a mass of gross fluids sunk into the pits of his stomach like an anvil, and revolved around his intestines, churning his inner organs, releasing chemicals all over him that drove him to his worst enemy:

'I'll just break the egg'

Takeo felt his body shiver and shake, even if his muscles weren't actually responding to electrical pulses; lightning and thunder struck him in the heart.

HE HAD TO PROTECT THAT WISH HEART EGGS NEED TO BE PROTECTED! HEART EGGS MUST BE PROTECTED! WHO IS HE?! WHO DOES HE THINK HE IS, TO CRUSH SOMEONE ELSE'S WISH OF THE HEART?! People must NOT despair... PEOPLE MUST NOT FALL INTO DESPAIR.
THEY MUST NOT GET THEIR HOPES TAKEN AWAY!

He understood it! He finally got it! The reason why Takeo was such a strong advocate of protecting heart eggs, was because he, at one point, was sunk into a different kind of despair. It was awful, and he did not want anyone to be subdued on it. He was given hope, he was given the chance... And if other people had it at hand, IT SHALL NOT BE TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM.

"Wow."

Takeo snapped out of it, listing his palms by the side of his face, in sign of defeat. "Okay, okay, okay; we'll do it your way. But hey, you're keeping your word: Leave the egg here, and I take you to the guardians." Takeo ended his character transformation, since they would be around public area, and he knew better now to not let others see him transformed. "My guardian character will stay here, just to keep an eye out of it. But I swear I will take you to the guardians." After the gakuran guy'd leave the egg, and only after he'd leave the egg where they were, Takeo would take him to the Guardian's lair.

They walk to the Planetarium would be silent; accompanied by the sound of  sport war cries, whistles, and feet running in the background. Takeo looked over his shoulder every other second, as to check that nobody that he knew was looking at them.

The building's walls, albeit closed, greeted them to come in; but that wasn't where they were going to. Takeo walked past it, as if he weren't even interested to get into the Planetarium in first place. He was standing by the side, as to walk around it. "Over here," he called the guy, waiting for him to catch up with his walking pace. Right behind the Planetarium, they would find a a back entrance. Takeo took out his Seiyo Key for one second, and acted as if he passed it over the lock of the door, before opening it. He sighed, looking defeated. His frustrated glare loomed over the other, doing a sarcastic welcoming motion. "Be my guest" he groaned, walking besides the guy into the storage room.
At one point, he pushed the guy inside; jumping back to close the door behind him. Takeo pushed with all his might against it, so that he couldn't get out.

Nervous fingers started to type on his LINE app, looking for the one actual guardian he knew.

"im in trouble"
"please come to the planetarium"
"the storage"
"some weirdo with an x egg and a weird lock wanted to come to see the guardians and i locked him"
"tell kirishigi"

His back pushed hard, just in case that the other tried to get out. He only prayed that Junko would come soon. A familiar girl from third year was walking right past the storage, Fukawa,  as she needed to get something for a teacher. Takeo partially discussed with her, as she couldn't walk in. Not today.

[Juon]

The stranger was entirely oblivious to the strength of Takeo's internal monologue, still staring away from him with eyes reading of nothing but disinterest.

He didn't seem to even notice Takeo was standing there until he prompted him that he would take him to the Guardians, if he left the egg there, as he had agreed he would. The stranger nodded without a further word, following the Seiyo student across the campus.

The silence didn't seem to phase him whatsoever; he looked as if he were barely even there, hardly even present, even as they approached the Planetarium. He seemed more alert as they drew near it, Takeo unlocking the back door and promptly pushing him inside.

The door was quickly barricaded behind him as he heard the guy smashing his weight into it.

The stranger's demeanor remained the same. His eyes rapidly scanned the room--a sink, a bucket, a broom, a couple of locked and unmarked doors, some plumbing, a crowbar...

Taking the crowbar in hand, he took a few steps away from the door, examining it. Wood. Maybe a centimeter thick, at most. The hardware on it was old, at least by fifteen or twenty years.

Not waiting for anything in particular, the stranger charged at the door, ramming into it with all of his strength and bodyweight--though he was skinny at 5'6" and only 110lbs, he had a hard frame and a strong center of gravity and an iron will.

It felt like her lungs were about to burst, running as fast as she possibly could. Only wishing her legs could carry her farther and faster than they were. It was very rare to receive such a message but when it appeared in front of her she couldn't help scrambling to get to their side as soon as possible. People didn't often ask for her help so when they did, they meant it...

She had received a few texts before from the captain asking her for assistance with mediocre tasks that weren't entirely all that urgent and Takeo was more than capable of handling problems on his own. But to get a plea for help like such worried her. It worried her terribly. For Takeo of all people to personally tell her he was in trouble...it shook her head to toe. She could feel herself panicking as she rushed to multiple conclusions in fear.

She couldn't loose the captain of all people.

He was so so important to her, amongst all her close friends. If he was hurt...well. She'd already had to deal with a few visits to the hospital. She really didn't want to be showing up there once again to see him. She'd try as hard as she could muster to try to keep the big dolt out of harm's way.

She skid to a stop, hurrying inside of the Planetarium, slowly catching her breath as she looked around. It took her a minute but she quickly spotted him leaning against one of the doors in the back of the building. But it only took a minute before something began to make a racket, rattling the door behind Takeo.

"Takeo-kun! Behind you!"

[Takeo]

The relief he got from seeing Junko run towards him relieved each of his muscles, although still fueled by adrenaline; he wasn't exerting as much strength as he were just earlier. Takeo felt an air of pride, pride for Junko, overcome him. He knew she was someone he could always rely on in situations of dire danger-- more so, he was capable of putting his pride aside for the sake of accepting that he needed someone else's help. It was a huge leap in his personal growth; yet it wasn't the time to dwell on that feeling.

He didn't have a second to be prepared, when Junko yelled, it almost caught him with his guard down. Almost.

Supporting the door by leaning with his shoulder, knees flexed, and shoes digging on the ground, Takeo grinded his teeth returning the pressure back at the wood.

There was no time to chit chat.

"Use your egg sense, find Ousuke near the bleachers, he's with an x egg. Cure it." There was something in his eyes, as he stared at his fellow soldier; at his right hand knight, to follow his petition. "Please, I count on you." Who knew how much time left they had before the guy would take down the door. Takeo could put up a fight, but there's only so much he can do without... Having to hurt the other.

Ousuke would be floating around the x egg, patrolling its every breath. The negative energy was off putting, but he was ought to comply to his duty. He couldn't do much without Takeo to cure it together. Where was that boy?!

[Juon]

There were voices from behind the door, now; they were more urgent than before, less casual; he'd brought in an ally? Whatever; that didn't really matter.

After his first unsuccessful ram against the door, the guy on the other side was still holding strong, and the stranger took a moment to rub the shoulder he'd rammed with, which was now smarting like anything and would definitely be bruised in the morning. That wasn't important, though; what was, was getting out of here. He glanced around the room again, fixating on the door that had the right look to it to be one that lead into the main area of the planetarium. Doors could always be unlocked from the inside--maybe if he could get into that one, he could do what he came to do, and leave through the building'd front door.

That'd be quiet, efficient, and it would probably throw the buffoon outside off-guard, right? Make him think he'd given up.

For posterity's sake, he gave another, weaker ram to the door on purpose; to make the guy on the other side think that he'd lost energy, lost drive. He'd then readied his crowbar in both hands, approaching the door, and begun to try and pry or smash the lock right off of it.

The X-egg, meanwhile, was still floating dormant.
