There was no shortage of people around the park, it was a pleasant atmosphere for his first flower viewing on his own. Though, not entirely alone. None of the many faces were Nao’s, and that fact dampened Aki’s mood the longer he went without finding him. There was as distinct image in his mind of the narcoleptic student under a layer of petals, snoozing away while Aki passed by obliviously. He laughed quietly, "Like some weird shoujo manga."
It was a bit fitting, seeing as Aki was here under the pretense of a "date". He was quick to clarify, even to himself, that that was merely awkward phrasing on his friend's part--not that he had the chance to confirm this beforehand. Did male friends really go on outings like this together? Aki certainly never had at his old school, but, then again, his old school was normal.
He was still fidgeting about the topic when he finally discovered Nao under a tree a short time later. To Aki's dismay (but not surprise), he appeared fast asleep. Even as concerned as Aki was for the image people would have of them on something resembling a date, he didn't seem to have any issues getting closer to Nao to wake him up. He balanced on the balls of his feet and snatched a petal from his friend's head, then tickled the bottom of Nao's nose with the tip.
