Never Alone

Description: The Park always has its stages available for people to reserve for any purpose. Students are often encouraged to use it to showcase their own talents--and are assured that, no matter what they put on, they’ll never have to worry about no one showing up. Sasaki Hana will show up to any and everything held by students on that stage to support them.

Today was a very uneventful day to say the least. After rushing to get ready ready for school, once Da-Long entered the kitchen he realized something. There was no school today. He slapped his cheek for being so forgetful at that moment. Hitoshi just watched the whole time, not bothering to stop the scrambling male. Da-Long glared at Hitoshi who in turn glared back. Da-Long's egg had only just hatched a few days ago so he was not quite used to Hitoshi yet. Hitoshi on the other hand loved Da-Long right away, but he would never say it out loud.

After the morning's confusion Da-Long decided to go to the park. He loved watching the people perform there. It was so fun. Today however, once he made it to the stages, they were empty. There were no crowds, not many people and only a few people cleaning the lake. Da-Long looked around again hoping to see someone walking up to them. Nobody. He looked over to Hitoshi to find the little guy staring at him "Wh-what?" he questioned. Hitoshi simply floated up to sit on Da-Long's head and replied "Perform". Watching Da-Long for a few days was enough to know that the guy loved to put on a show. It was quite cute to watch. Da-Long got excited quickly. He didn't want others to know he could only sing love songs though. Slow ones at that. He told his worries to Hitoshi hoping to get some encouragement. He didn't get any. Hitoshi got up and floated over to the stage and motioned to the mic "There's no one here" he said calmly. Da-Long laughed "Oh yea".

With a huge smile on his face, Da-Long got up on stage. He tested the mic to make sure it was working and was a bit startled when he heard voice boom from the speakers. Hitoshi went to the edge of the stage and sat down. He clapped lightly trying to be the audience Da-Long deserved. "Yay. woo." Hitoshi said softly, with no enthusiasm whatsoever. Da-Long gave a thumbs up before clearing his throat. He started by trying to sing one of his favorite rock songs. It didn't sound so good, especially because he was better at softer songs.

    As much as Yasuko appreciated her father's dedication to providing a full breakfast every day for his children, what she didn't appreciate was being awoken to strong smells of bacon and other various breakfast foods on her day off of school. All she had wanted was to sleep in, but as that was obviously not going to happen, she rolled out of bed and slammed her door open. Stumbling forward and grumbling under her breath, Yasuko grabbed a plate full of food. She was one of the few lucky girls who didn't gain weight easily, giving her the full capability to eat loads of food. She took full advantage of that, the food was shoveled into her face and gone almost as quickly as she had sat down.

    Being home with only her older brother while her dad was out working was a less than ideal way to spend her day. So Yasuko planned to run out before he even woke up from the dead. It took her a good hour to do her makeup and make sure there wasn’t any flyaways in her hair before she escaped her home and headed to the park. She had nowhere specific she needed to be, so the park sounded like a good start to her day.

    Yasuko walked the path of the park, enjoying the fresh air. She stopped when she saw a cat. She would love to just cuddle the little ball of fur but would settle with just petting it for today. She bent over and reached her hand out, but right before she was able to touch the cat, it ran off. Determined to pet it, Yasuko followed it in the direction it had skipped off to, Which just so happened to be towards the stages.

Da-Long's song choice was horrible. Hitoshi had stopped clapping and simply stared at Da-Long. He didn't seem to notice until he was almost done with the song. His so called singing drifted into a whisper until he just stopped speaking all together "That bad?" he asked with a nervous smile. Hitoshi nodded slowly. It was really bad.

"Alright, alright," Da-Long sighed. He stretched his muscles and cleared his throat before holding the mic firmly once more. This time he was going to sing what he was good at. Love songs. He kept his eyes shut as he began the song. Apparently hearing a different language caught the attention of the people within earshot. Pretty soon he had gained a small crowd. Da-Long kept his eyes shut until he heard Hitoshi whisper into his ear to open them.

As he opened his eyes slowly, Da-Long was so surprised that he dropped the mic. As he fumbled to pick it back up he noticed that some people watched from afar. Except for that one person chasing a cat over there. As he straightened himself back up he spoke to the audience "Thank you," he said happily. Some people left once they heard him speak in japanese. What were they hoping for? He wondered. Shaking his head free from any bad thoughts he decided to interact with the crowd this time. He lifted his hand and pointed as he spoke "This is for the lovely ladies here~". He added a wink for emphasis as he begun to sing again. This time he approached the edge of the stage to interact with a few of the ladies present. He even reached out to the cat girl to get her attention. Many looked confused as he sung in English, trying to figure out what he was saying. Meanwhile those who did understand, just smiled and listened.

    The cat, for some reason, stopped to listen to the music after it's trip around the park. Yes, Yasuko had chased it entirely around the park. The cat wedged it's way in between a couple of people, staring back at Yasuko, it seemed to sense that she didn't want to push through the people to get to it. She sighed sadly, all she wanted to do was pet it, she was going to make sure to be extra gentle and careful. She must just put off an aura that screams at animals to stay away. Yasuko folded her arms in defeat, might as well enjoy the show while she was there, since she obviously wasn't petting any kitties. Yet again.

    She managed to find a roomier spot on one side of the stage up front. She wanted to get a better look to see who was singing. He seemed about her age, but what was this? He was very strange, Yasuko couldn't even understand a word he was saying in his song. Was he trying to flirt with the girls? To say the least, she wasn't impressed. Yasuko never listened to songs in different languages and didn't really care for the tune of the song. She was seconds away from walking away to lite a cigarette.

Da-Long was having the time of his life. The thrill, the excitement. Everything. It all just felt ... right. As he sung his heart out Da-Long began to move to the rhythm. He could feel the music and man did it feel great. As the song went on he couldn't help but notice the cat girl had gotten closer to the stage. Was she interested? The first chorus finished and Da-Long  began the next verse "You're the reason, the air I'm breathing~". He continued to sing in English without a care. He gave a lot of interaction to the ladies but there were also quite a few men there as well. Not wanting to seem rude he sung to them as well.

While listening to Da-Long, Hitoshi decided to relax in his hood. It was the best time to. Upon reaching the second chorus Da-Long kneeled in front of the cat girl and begun to sing to her. It looked like she wasn't having any fun so he just wanted to get her involved in some way. Try and make her feel special. He should know not to touch others without permission but his hand unconsciously stroked her cheek as he sung. A few men and women, who happened to have become interested in him, snatched his hand away real quick and held on. Da-Long continued to sing as he tried to free his, now arm, away from these people. Their grip only tightened causing him to not be able to move from that spot. He was actually growing more and more embarrassed after doing that to the cat girl, and wanted to run away. So far away.

    Yasuko had started to pull a box out of her bag right as Da-Long had kneeled down in front. She froze and her hand twitched nervously. Just her luck. She thought about just smiling a little and pretending it was alright, just to be nice. However hard she tried to smile, her face just became more and more annoyed. Until this boy had decided to touch her face. She could feel her face heat up, it was probably as red as a tomato. To top it all off, beads of sweat started to roll down her face.


    She stood still for a few seconds as his hand was grabbed by the others, the embarrassment welling up inside her. She wanted to just be able to calm herself down before she did something she didn’t mean to do. However, she wasn’t able to and before she knew it, Yasuko had pushed the other girls out of the way and grabbed his arm for herself. She paused, looking him straight in the face before raising her other hand and swinging it down, knocking his mic to the ground. Shit. Coming back to her senses, Yasuko quickly let go of his hand, she had caused quite the scene now.

[DaLong]

Da-Long was stunned for a second. What just happened? Oh yea. He upset someone. The audience that was once swooning and happy now looked at Yasuko in disbelief. Whispers questioning who she was and what she was doing begun to emerge. He felt bad for doing that to her and wanted to make it up, but he had no idea how. Hitoshi stayed in his spot. Da-Long could handle this on his own.



He begun to absent mindedly rub his arm after it was released. A few scrapes and bruises made themselves known. People were scary sometimes. As he held his arm he finally thought of something he could do to apologize to this girl. Without a second thought, Da-Long leaped from the stage and ran to a store just outside the park. Hitoshi had floated out of the hood before Da-Long left so he was left at the stage. Just what was he up to now leaving so quickly? Hitoshi simply floated down to sit on the stage as he waited for Da-Long to realize he wasn’t there with him. He also kept his eye on the cat girl in case something happened.

The humiliation of what she had just done hit her like a ton of bricks. Sweat was rolling down her face like waterfalls. At least, that's how she felt it was. What was she going to do now? Honestly, there wasn't anything she could do other than apologize...

That wasn't happening. Yasuko had tried to open her mouth to say sorry, but nothing had come out.

She was glad when she saw the boy leave, it gave her the opportunity to escape before anyone else had seen her. Yasuko fidgeted for a bit after Da-long had fled from the stage, it wasn't long after that she had decided to run off herself.

Yasuko had wished it would have been an easier escape, without all the eyes that had been watching before hand...But she could only be that lucky. though there were few watching, Yasuko hoped that the people that had been, wouldn't remember her for this moment. Without too much of a thought, ignoring the watching eyes, Yasuko jumped to escaped from questioning of others who had seen the whole ordeal.

[DaLong]

Rushing around the store Da-Long grabbed a few bags of candy. Who wouldn't be happy with candy? After paying for the items Da-Long rushed out of the store. Because of traffic it took him a while to actually cross the street. Once across Da-Long raced back into the park and towards the stage he was using previously. He was a bit surprised to find the crowd still there. He walked the crowd looking for the cat girl only for Hitoshi to float over and tell him that she was gone.

Da-Long looked down at his bag of candy then back at the crowd. It seemed like they they still wanted to hear him perform, and who was he to turn them down? Placing the bag down at the edge of the stage Da-Long jumped back up onto it. He grabbed the mic once more and spoke to the crowd "Alright, one last song~". With a bow of gratitude Da-Long sang his last song of the day. It was over rather quickly. As Da-Long leapt off the stage and headed home he couldn't help but wonder where that girl had run off to. He decided to perform at the park whenever he could to see if she would show up again. With that decision made, Da-Long began to talk to Hitoshi as they walked along the streets towards home.

Sasaki Hana would never miss a performance--ever, no matter how good or bad the performer, or how many people showed up or didn't show up. That was her self-assigned duty, her certain purpose, and a recreational activity that she took as some kind of break from her normal work. While it worked out sometimes, as she often was able to scout talents right out of it, she did view it as a non-work activity; and, for all intents and purposes, it was.

And so when she frequented the stage areas that morning, she was surprised to catch sight of Fu Da-Long, one of her own Faberge members, taking the initiative to put on something of his own, simply out of having noticed that there wasn't anything happening. She kept to the back edge of the crowd, letting herself blend in with the others that had arrived (she wasn't the tallest person, anyway, so it wasn't all that difficult). But there was a smile on her face as he sung, with the shadow of pride seeping through the more he continued.

Though it seemed like things had taken a turn for the worse when he'd gone for audience interaction--a good thought, but not one always welcomed, as was seeming to be the case now. The individual--a girl, it seemed, who had wound up there somewhat by accident--was quite displeased, and caused a bit of a scene, pushing and knocking things away; Sasaki would've moved to interfere, but it seemed that things were already breaking up more definitively as Da-Long fled the scene, only for the girl to shortly after, as well.

A frown, as she approached the stage while the crowd broke up, picking up the microphone and staring down into it for a moment. There was a hesitation, but she placed it delicately back onto the mic stand. A shame.
