Summary:
It's Saturday afternoon
. A couple of days ago, Takeo asked Miho for a date over twitter, using the terminology for 'romantic date' instead of 'friend date'. Miho is confused and has taken his invitation as a mere hangout as friends. Takeo is bummed by the 'rejection', but the old friends will go out on weekend, nonetheless.

Takeo is tired of life, as usual. Very few things motivate him, and his loner heart is constantly let down by the hopes and expectations he puts on people. On this occasion, his invisible high hopes have been put down by an old friend, Akiyama Miho, a girl who he asked out in order to distract his heart from someone else. Takeo and Miho attended to the same middle school, and both witnessed the abuse that the other endured through it. They weren't easy years, and Takeo was admittedly a perpetrator of Miho's suffering at one point, but those days were long past him; in theory. While he wasn't a 'bully' anymore, he was still unmannerly and  weird with strangers --there was no reason to act so with Miho, they were friends, right?

Miho's phone contact floated on Takeo's phone screen, as he waited for the right moment to text her, and accord the time and place they would meet up at. While he dressed up in very casual wear, a black pullover and some jeans, the young man thought about the reasons why he'd try to attempt a move on his middle school friend. He found her to be a very cute girl, sweet, kind, albeit a doormat at times; she obviously didn't like him, at all, so why should he even try? Wouldn't he play with her feelings, if his only reason to go on a date was to forget the person he really liked?

"I'll be at the shopping district", he texted. Takeo was a rather fast walker, so he would be there in no time. "Dress cute, or something." He didn't care; he only wanted to distract his mind. Anything else she would want to offer was a bonus.

The word "date" was much adequate for a romantic setting, but Miho didn't thought much about. It was certainly a weird offering coming from a friend, but she could not refuse. In her mind, she believed that Takeo needed to talk to her about something important, something he could only talk with a friend which made her curious and nervous about their meeting.

Miho was already on her way to meet him at the shopping district, receiving his text message while the girl was riding the train. Sitting in the seat right next to the door, she unlocked her phone and quickly read over his words unable to hold back a soft laugh. "He is always joking." Miho thinks for herself, fingers quickly moving over the keyboard. "I'm three stations away" the girl sends as a first message. "I will be there in 10 minutes, more a less. Where do we meet?" press sent again, adding a cute Line sticker on her message before tapping her fingernails in the backside of her phone's case. At every minute it passed, the tiny girl got more and more nervous. Miho hoped that the reason of that Saturday hangout was just for boredom kill instead for serious business.


The second year knew what Takeo suffered during middle school, she was well aware of it as she was also a victim and could relate deeply to it, but Miho couldn't help but worry about something happening again. "I always dress cute!" she messages back after a couple of minutes, trying to act offended but knowing that Takeo would scoff at her. It didn't take much longer for her to get out the train and exit the correct gate, waiting for Takeo to tell her where they could meet. Although she believed she looked cute, there was nothing special about Miho's outfit. She wore a white turtleneck shirt with thin black stripes all across the fabric, a deep turquoise pleated skirt, white slip-on over white socks and a cozy grey coat ( x ).

"I'm already here" Miho texted once again, stuffing her phone on the pockets of her coat waiting for Takeo as she plaied mindlessly with the strap of her small black messenger bag.

There wasn't anything serious to talk about, since Takeo wasn't willing to share with Miho the whole ordeal about the eggs. If anything, maybe they could talk about schoolwork and the new clubs, whatever tv show was trending at the moment, or the movies currently showing on theaters. What did people his age talk about, anyway?To be quite honest, Takeo wasn't any good at holding small talk, either. If he was awful at keeping conversations flowing, how is he even going to entertain this girl for the next 3 or 4 hours?  The young man wondered what to do with his 'date', making his way with long strides towards a small fountain in the center of the shopping district.

The notifications on his old phone got him out of his stressful trance. Miho had her way to joke back at him, too, and her cute stickers sort of made the air lighter for him to breath. Takeo 's phone went off while he found a place to sit by, he didn't know if he had the patience to wait for ten minutes standing up. The lock screen with a kendoka's armor was swiped into his menu, finding Miho's LINE contact and replying promptly with a "Tsk, tsk, I'll be the judge of that." A cute 'pisuke and usagi' sticker greeted the girl back after his message. However, he forgot to tell the girl where he would be waiting for her to arrive.

It was too late to complain when he noticed, she was already there. Did he doze off? Takeo couldn't remember what did he do for the past five minutes or so. Quick digits typed another message, spamming 'sorry' stickers to the girl after them. "I'm at the fountain! Sorry." said one, "I fell asleep?" said the other. The date hadn't started and he already had made a mess of himself. Way to give a bad image. As soon as she arrived to the meeting place, Miho would find Takeo chugging on some canned black coffee, sitting on the edge of the fountain and shaking his knee like a mental patient. 

"So... Sorry!" He would murmur, regaining air. His flustered face incapable of maintaining eye contact. The girl looked cute in her outfit of choice
, it was always a shocker to see girls from school without their uniform. But, if he didn't have anything to do with Miho romantically, why was he so nervous? Takeo gave a quick up and down look at Miho and, averting her eyes -might they judge him for staring-, he gave her a thumbs up. "Uh, you passed. Cute girl approved. Yeah..." He couldn't even joke, he was way too apprehensive.

"Thanks for coming, by the way." His left hand ran through his hair, making it messier than the usual. "I didn't think you would... You know... Actually come."

Miho patiently waited for Takeo in the spot she way, tips of her toes tapping together absentmindedly. While the boy wasn't so eager to talk about the whole issue revolving around the eggs, Miho was growing more and more curious about them every day it passed. She kept her small warm egg at her home, on top of the fluffy belly of a teddy bear. The girl was still flabbergasted that one day the egg appeared without apparent reason in her bed after a long sleep, but she didn't had the courage to throw it away or ask anyone about it. It was simply too weird.

His message came in suddenly, making Miho unlock her phone once again at the river of apologizing stickers Takeo sent her. Waiting five minutes wasn't a big of a deal, but the teen boy always appeared nervous and restless when anyone was around which made Miho wonder if he really believed that they were friends. Miho saw them as it, maybe not best friends or super close ones, but she knew that to some extent she could depend on Takeo if something happened or worried her. Maybe it was due to their hurtful shared past, but she believed they had some sort of connection beyond acquaintances.

"On my way" she shortly types starting to walk to their meeting point and it didn't take long until she arrived. — 

— I'm sorry, I'm late. - Miho softly laughs at Takeo, both of them apologizing for something no one did wrong. Feeling his gaze on her, the girl stood quietly in her spot, waiting for Takeo to judge her outfit. After all, he demanded a cute one and Miho wasn't so sure about her clothes of choice. — Is that so? I'm glad. I wasn't sure on what to wear since you said cute, so my mom helped me. - the girl chuckles still with a smile on her face that made her almond eyes even smaller noticing how Takeo adverted her eyes out of shyness. He was sure a thing, changing quite a bit from online to offline. — You look really handsome too. - Miho compliments him too, it just felt right to be nice to him as he was being with her.

But his latest words took the teen off guard. Not going? Why wouldn't she? — Why? - Miho asks confused at his statement. — You invited me to hang out, why I shouldn't have come if I said yes already? - his train of thought really disconcerted her. — It would have been rude to cancel at the last moment. - Miho laughs again, hand adjusting the bag over her shoulder.

— So... - she spoke after a short moment of silence. — What do you have in mind for today? - it wasn't really cold already even though the rainy season was almost upon them. — I know a good and cheap place to go have lunch later if you want, and there is a bookstore that sells really cute stationery. I would like to check that later if we can.

Well, this was awkward. Among the things he expected to hear from Miho, he did not think she would call him something like that: handsome. He was average at his best, with his double eyelids, sharp dark eye bags, and slouched tall figure. "You shouldn't..." He stuttered the first words, fidgeting with the edge of his pullover. "...Reckless things like that, if you don't mean them for real." His pity inducing commentary wasn't all that craving for her attention, but rather, it wanted her to believe what he believed of him: that he wasn't anything good of a guy, and to not give him any hopes. "Hmm, your mom has good taste, though. People are going to think you're hanging out with a delinquent if you walk by my side, hah hah..." His blushed face stared at his brand shoes, and onto the side of the road. He hadn't noticed prior to that hangout, but Miho had a really pretty and soft looking hair, didn't she?

"Well... Again, I'm glad that you came. With the way I.. worded things, huh..." Without intending to prolong his awkwardness, and not bury himself a deeper grave, he gave a soft slap to his cheeks with both hands, like a sleepy student would. "I... I don't have much planned, I just wanted to see you to talk and, uh... Yes! Yeah, I don't mind browsing stationery, there's a few things I want to buy too."
He took a deep breath through his nostrils, and shook his head as to dissipate his negativity. He needed to be as determined as possible today.

"Say, Miho." Maybe he could ask her about the egg's matter. Who knew? If his senior third year, Juon, had an egg of his own, and suggested that many others students probably had one, too, what hindered the idea of Miho having a magical trinket, as well? "If an egg appeared in your room, painted like one of those... North American easter eggs... Wouldn't that be fucked up, or what?" That was the same question he asked Juon the other day. His hands were deeply buried on his pockets, all while they walked towards the bookstore of her choice to dive into cutesy pens and papers. If Miho hadn't ever seen an egg like that, this would be one of the most awkward conversation starters of history. Regardless of the odds being against his favor, Takeo's heart's egg vibrated on his pant's pockets, again, which made it look as if a silent phone was receiving a phone call. He sweated cold beads, hoping that she hadn't noticed the movement coming from beneath. "I mean... n-not that I have one, you know, but uh, it's something happening a lot in school. Maybe it's a creepypasta, or a urban legend. Who knows!" Indeed, he was obviously hiding something. If only his guardian character forced a change on him, to get him out of that awkward mess. "I heard that weird things happen when you make a wish, or some weird shit. Butit sounds like a children's book's story to me."
