It's a good way to get some community service hours, meet fellow animal lovers, but could you also meet a new friend to take home?

Himekawa was very familiar with one of the local shelters, there had been a time they had come to her rescue and found her someone she could confide in quite a few years ago. When she'd heard they were trying to hold an adoption event she jumped at the chance, getting her father to help convince her mother it would be a good chance for character and connection building. That had been more than enough to get a simple agreement and she'd appeared at the shelter. She'd spoken to the workers for a bit before being handed fliers to hand out. With a smile and a nod she was off! 

She took to the streets with the large stack of papers in her arms as she found herself on a fairly frequented street before she started to hand out the fliers. Not many people really wanted to take the fliers but with a bit of charming 'persuasion' she'd managed to hand out quite a few of the papers. She just hoped it would be of some help to them. After what they'd done for her she'd wanted to do the same for them....

Sayuri wasn't one to frequent downtown very often. With her driver always at the ready and her parents constant restrictions on her schedule, her free time was close to zero. Going out was one of the ideal social habits of a typical high school student! How could she possibly call herself a member of the Seiyo elite if her parents didn't even let her in the yard?! It was a tragedy that she only knew Otonoki from behind the glass of her car's window, yet it seemed her luck had taken a turn for the better.

Her siblings had insisted they attend one of those fancy schmancy parties right outside of the city, taking her escort with them instead of their own. With the number of friends the twins had, they needed at least three vehicles just to get them all to their destination. Her parents had waved the matter away, allowing for the older siblings to do whatever they wanted without even realizing what they were signing off to. Of course, she didn't bother to mention the fact her club was cancelled today, she merely took the bus money her siblings slipped her and continued on her merry way.

Now in the heart of Otonoki, Sayuri walked around with her backpack in tow looking at all the neat buildings. She had no idea there were so many shops in this part of town! And the people! Her bag was stuffed with random papers and tissues from employees walking the streets, trying their hardest to advertise whatever sale was happening at their shop. Unable to say no, the second year collected each and every one. Just as her bag began to tip over from the added weight she brushed against someone in the crowd, leaning towards them from a sudden stumble.

"Oh, whoops!" She said, righting herself as soon as she could and adjusting her bag on her shoulder. She turned to the person she'd bumped into, bowing politely towards them as the crowd surged by. "I'm so sorry about that! I hope I didn't hurt you at all, these fliers are all quite heavy. Are you alright?"

It was easy to bump into someone downtown, the area was fairly crowded after all in the right areas. She couldn't expect any less though it was still fairly startling. She squeaked softly, tightening the grasp of her arms around the fliers as she tried her best to keep them from flying. With a bit of luck, she'd managed to make sure they didn't slip away. "A-ah that's okay!! No harm done! No one's hurt and none of my fliers got away so it's alright!!"

She turned to face the other person, smiling softly at the other girl. She seemed around her age, most likely in a school similar to hers as well. She apologized almost instantly, though Himekawa couldn't really blame her for it. She didn't frequent downtown that often but she was aware of how easily others bumped into each other. Though most of the time no one apologized to either party, it was sweet of her to apologize so quickly...!!

"Ah! That's right! If you'd like you can take one of my fliers too and we'll call it even!" She smiled at the other girl, giving her a small wink as she offered her one of the small fliers. Thankfully it wasn't too large so it shouldn't be too much of a extra load on top of the ones she already had. "I know I-I'm not one to talk...but sometimes its okay to say no to people handing out fliers." She looked at the other student's bag. "Y-you seem to have quite the collection heheh.."

Sayuri let out a quiet sigh of relief as the other managed to stay upright, helping the girl with the flyers in her hands. She'd almost caused a mess right in the middle of town, and she had a feeling the other's employer wouldn't be too pleased if their advertisements went flying with the wind. Once the two of them were balanced she took a step back to give the other some room. The streets were still as busy as ever but at least they managed to make a tiny bubble around themselves.

"That's good to hear," she said, allowing herself another moment to adjust her bag before yet another flier was held up to her. It was different than the others she'd collected, belonging to some sort of..... animal shelter? "Oh, I'd love to take one! Thank you so much. D-do you work there, by any chance?" Was it a school rule that students weren't allowed part time jobs, or was that a different high school? She knew some places enforced it but there were plenty of students at the Faberge building every day. If they could find jobs with the company, why couldn't other students do the same? Not that Faberge members were paid, but still......

"I suppose you're right. I just.... I have the hardest time turning the other way. Plus they have so much interesting information on them! Who knew you could get eggs for so cheap during a sale. It's practically a steal!" the girl whispered the last bit, covering her mouth after she said it as though it were a well kept secret, "I didn't even know there was an animal shelter in the area! I'll find some place to recycle the rest, but I might want to keep this one. Does the place allow people to....mmmm..... play with the animals? Without buying one, I mean! My parents would throw a fit if they found dog hair on the furniture."
