So what now. After all that x-egg problem, losing a bunch of money to a rigged stall and some thinking, he thought it might be best for him to take a breather or something. The only problem is, he sucks at it. The more he has to sit around and do nothing, the worse it becomes for him. Sure, he now has to wait until he gets better. Or at least have the strength to get up and walk around again. He would call it quits for the night, but that's not before he uses some more money to buy himself some food. You know? For stock. Or at least until they go bad or something.

At least he isn't wearing a yukata. That thing would have impeded his movements right? Now sitting on a bench and just watching people walk around, he kind of wished the festival didn't have so much of a 'sad' note to it. The other students probably know what's up. Maybe more than he does. He's pretty much been all alone this entire festival, cept for some short meetings. Where did his friends go, anyway? He really didn't spend some good ol time with anyone. Maybe it's time he headed back to the dorm. He sighed. Not like anyone would would want to hang around. Maybe forget the food. He should just plop down for another lonely festival.

Minji

[Minji]

Minji hated yukata - her movements were restricted to shuffling. Shuffling. She was not use to moving at such a slow speed. It was very uncomfortable for the usually quick moving girl. Not to mention the sandles, they were going to get her more injured than her usual tricks would. Letting out a huff she stopped - taking a quick look around. She was near some food stalls, but she'd eaten earlier, so she wasn't all that hungry - but Paii and Vaii would be far happier with her if she got them something else sweet she supposed. 

It was when she started her annoyingly slow movements again that she spotted somebody familiar. "Yo - Shun!" Her voice was loud - and she hoped he heard her. It took a few more moments, moving as quickly as she could towards him, just in case he hadn't heard her voice and had been about to leave. She hadn't seen a lot of people around herself, she'd been hoping to spot her roommate but as it was she hadn't seem hide nor hair of the first year.
But Shun was a great person to see as well! Probably better actually -

"You're...on your own?" She'd expected him to be with friends to be honest. With his positive seeming personality she'd really thought more people would have been with him. Even more so considering the mood that hung around a lot of people lately. Happy people were always the best kind of friends in these kinds of situations.

Shun was about to go before he thought he heard someone calling out to him. "Eh? Oh. Minji." To think that he almost just left. "Yeah. People are feeling...Strange, I guess?" He tried to force a laugh, but it just sounded awkward. "I did meet up with some people, but they were just walking around alone as well?" He shrugged. It's supposed to be a somewhat 'happy' occassion, right? But it doesn't look like anyone's really happy. It's the eggs. The x-eggs probably. And he's heard of some people going X, which scared him more than actually made him want to help them out.

"Aww, everyone's wearing a yukata though, huh? Wish I could have got one for myself." He couldn't even spare the money for a second hand one. That, and his pride is really just telling him not to wear something other people has worn before. "But I guess I have some money for games because I didn't get one, but I've won so little. It isn't really fair sometimes." He puffed up his cheeks as he looked at the stalls. "But I got six fish after so many tries. They are all named after my dogs back home. I sooooo miss them." Well at least the tone shifted from sad to confusingly happy? "This here is Akira, and Eiji, Haru, Hayate, Kin, Masa and last but not least, Yasu." He would have gone full proud owner mode and pulled out photos to show, but it's probably better not to do that here.

"You okay though? You're moving all funny." Of course, he's referring to Minji's shuffle. It wasn't a walk. "Lemme guess, not used to it?" Come to think of it, he's never seen Minji wear anything like this, its' not like it doesn't suit her, but it's not like she wore something like that on a daily basis. So it's probably the case.

"Yeah..." She let out a sigh and rubbed the back of her head. It hadn't exactly been the best day. People certainly had been feeling off - she herself included. There were plenty of reasons for people to be that way though she supposed but it wasn't really...the best atmosphere for such a festival. "Well! I guess nobody asked anybody to hang out huh?" It was a little odd that nobody had really 'gone together' though, she was sure people would have wanted to stick close to others in these kinds of situations. Letting out another small sound she looked away for a moment before looking back at Shun - trying to smile a little more uniquely.

"Do you want mine?" She was joking. Probably. She didn't like her yukata at all - and Shun was wearing shorts. She was so incredibly jealous. "Haaa - yeah. Good idea to save for the more fun stuff. You could always get a yukata at some other point - but the festival games are the most fun huh? Even if you don't win." Although - considering she won most of the games she played she won she didn't think she had much room to talk. "But - of course it isn't fair." The girl let out a short laugh. "They're all like...super rigged. You have to find a way around it." 

"Thats so cute -" The one game she had no chance of winning was the fish game. Not that she really wanted a fish - but still, it was something she really couldn't do. "Six dogs?" She looked at him with a wide eyes. She couldn't imagine all that dog. "That sounds like a lot of slobber and fluffy cuddles." Dogs were so cute - she loved them, but have never been able to have one.

The girl found herself looking away from the boy again - and had to shuffle out of the way of a group of people walking nearby - showing just how much she wasn't use to the yukata. "I don't wear normal skirts - let alone something like this." She wasn't exactly comfortable. Sure girly clothes were cute - but she didn't like wearing them. "So I - really just can't walk in this."

"You're right about that. The answer I get for asking them is always 'nah', 'don't feel like it', 'not in the mood'. I HATE being by myself." He is half whining, maybe it's because he understands what's really going on. Sort of. "I thought there'd be a bunch of people going with their friends? But I can only spot very few of them." And he's not super familiar with them to try to call out and join the party. Seriously, though. What is up with everyone an their dampened spirits?

"Oh, no, no, I couldn't possibly ask you for your yukata." He laughed in response. But then again, he's learned from experience that he could be making people extra angry if he said he won't wear their second hand stuff. So that would do. Some things are better kept to yourself after all. Especially the mean spirited things. "If I get one for myself, I would probably want something custom made, but you know, no money." He laughed yet again. "Festival games are probably my only reason to be here right now. Otherwise, I think the general feel of this festival would drive me away. Eventually." What with people avoiding each other and the drama that comes with x activity. Is it too much these days to just ask for a good time?

"Yeah. Six dogs. I think we spend more money on them than ourselves, but hey, who can say no to cute dogs." And Shun really does love his dogs, but now, maybe he's thinking about if it's right or not to neglect personal finance because of the dogs. Just another thing he learned by talking to someone else and assessing his own words. "I wish I can have them here with me, though?? Ohmygosh they are definitely the cutest dogs in the world!!" But whatever, for now, he can just gush about them.

"You want some tips? I mean, you're talking to someone who's worn a dress WITH a train once in his life." He grinned. At least that usually puts a smile on someone's face or gives them a laugh. Because really, it's kind of weird to imagine it. "Not to mention, I walk in heels a lot before. I guess you can say I can actually rock them better than most people. You gotta be confident, first of all. And you gotta work on the posture. You gotta quit gripping on your yukata to make it shorter. But have you heard of the SHORT yukatas? Those are really cute too! It makes moving really easy! But they're not exactly traditional..." Oh god, get him talking about fashion and he'll probably talk your ears off.

Minji couldn't stop her grin - really, he was acting like such a kid. But she supposed she could understand. "Well - at least you're not alone now, yeah?" Nor was she for that matter, which she was very glad for actually. She let out a sigh and pulled at her ponytail a little. It was a little worrisome about what was going on really. But she didn't bring it up - sure the atmosphere wasn't the best but it was certainly better now than it had been for her before. "I think - some groups are just...having issues." By issues she meant that some of their friends had gone 'x' and a load of them didn't have the want to actually turn up or have any fun. She shrugged a little anyway.

"I was mostly kidding anyway." She let out a snort of laughter. "It's like - old anyway, so...I don't think I'd give it away." It was a few years old at least, but she hadn't grown for a long while, so it wasn't all that much of a surprise that she hadn't grown out of it. "But a custom yukata huh?" That would have been super expensive - although, looking at Shun she wasn't all that surprised. Sure it didn't sound like he had a lot of money, but he also seemed like the kind of person who would get what they wanted in the end.
"Haaaa- yeah." She nodded her head, she kind of understood that. She wasn't really sure why she was still around the festival. "Good thing for the games then, huh?" 

"Ah - just like my aunt then." She almost pulled out her own phone to show off her aunts cute dogs - but figured that he may have seen pictures on twitter anyway. "She and my cousin have adopted a load of dogs - they spend so much money on them." So she couldn't fault him and his family for that. Sure it might not exactly have been the smartest thing to do...but if people cared about their pets like that, shouldn't it be okay? "You don't get to see them often then huh?" Well, if he was boarding at school it'd make sense that he wouldn't be able to go back and see them all that often.

"But aren't these two things very different?" She wasn't all that taken back by the fact he wore a dress - if he was as interested in kpop as their last conversation had suggested she could definitely picture a few male kpop artists wearing something along those lines. She let out a low sound at the rest of his words though - how was it being longer going to help her out? She let out a slight huff and let go of the fabric. "High heels? I though you liked being short?" Shun was a little confusing sometimes - or at least Minji thought so. "I've heard of them, yeah. I didn't get a chance to even look at getting a new one anyway so -" She rolled her eyes a little bit when he said 'traditional'...did Minji seem all that traditional? Really?

"Issues. Tell me about it. Or wait. Don't. I think I know." It's not like him not to want to sympathize for others, but at the same time, the feeling of neglect really overrides the entire premise of being actually sympathetic to others. He's still got some ways to go before being somewhat un-selfish.

"Expensive is the bane of my existence." He looks somewhat sad after hearing the cold hard facts. "But I'll get to a point someday where I can probably buy it myself." Positive thinking usually helps, right? "I have a bunch of specifics, you know? Length, pattern, comfort, does it go with certain other accessories, is it going to provide ample movement...I could go on, but I think I'd just be rambling. I have a habit of rambling." As if that isn't at all obvious already. "The games can distract me from having to think about more than 'gee, i wish i have a yukata on', so it's good. Yeah."

"Nope. And ummm...It's not that I don't want to. I just don't want to go home." The tone of his voice suddenly dropped as he said that, but he picked it right back up as soon as he realizes what he's doing. "But I suuuuuuper miss my dogs! I miss all of them, but I think I'm most proud of Masa, who is big and floofy and is a giant cuddly pillow most of the time." He's quick to change subjects when it doesn't exactly favor his happiness. "If there wasn't a 'no pets' policy around here, I'd SOOOOOO take them here with me." And unleash all hell upon all who come across him. As if it's not hellish enough already around him. But that might just only be speaking for the more grumpy bunch.

"I like being short, but I've worn heels a lot, too. It's because growing up, I'd always be the one cross-dressing the most. You know, when they need extra girls for a school show or something like that. It happens A LOT. There wasn't a lot of girls back in my junior high. There...Just wasn't a lot of students in general. I guess." He dug into his bag to pull out another wallet, pulling out a picture from it. "You see? That's me. Or used to be. If no one was informed that I was a guy, they'd buy that I'm a girl." He was quite proud of this fact and how convincing he was. In the picture, he was wearing a girl's uniform, he had long hair, tied back in a single ponytail and his shoes has some pretty decent heels. Most people are surprised about the fact that this was him. "You should look into getting ones you can actually walk in, you know? We're still on the yukata topic, right?" Of course, when he's the one who steered it off the said topic.

"I think - for most people, they can't afford customs though..." Old people, she thought maybe had custom ones made - but she'd yet to meet a person who had bought one in the last few years. They really were expensive, even for well off families like her own. Plus, considering growth and such it was likely whoever bought it might have outgrown it or shrunk too much for it to be of use the next year. All the same, she offered him a grin, she didn't mind the rambling at all. "Why are you saying sorry?" She really didn't understand. "You're enjoying talking about it right? So it's fine -" She turned her gaze away from him for a moment - she hadn't really played all that many games. They just really weren't something she enjoyed. Even if she was fairly good at some of them. "You wanna play some with me then? Keep up the distraction?" She was bored anyway. 

"I guess homes not for everybody, huh?" He wasn't alone in that - although - she'd been kicked out. She wasn't sure it was the same thing. "Well, if theres so many of them, I'm not surprised you miss them. But - Masa sounds wonderful." Minji would honestly have loved having a dog herself, but that had been impossible in her family home. "And maybe its a good thing they have a no pets policy." She let out a small snort of laughter as her head provided her with the image of an army of dogs just, pulling Shun along. "Some people might have some fur allergies around here...so, it's better to not get your dogs in trouble for that..."

She peaked at the photo - a little surprised at the length of his hair. "OH - yeah. Wow. I'd have thought that was your sister or something if you hadn't said -" Her lip quirked up at one side slightly. "You're cute." She said it with no shame at all. "I mean, I didn't embrace it like you did - but when I was a little younger people thought I was a boy sometimes too - mostly people at the skate-park." It was common to see girlish skater guys at the parks after all.
"I'd say you make a good looking girl." She nodded her head a little before turning back to their original topic. "Ah - nah. I don't really ever plan on wearing heels again in my life." She hated wearing the things, she'd had to for big family/business events, but now those were over she'd never have to touch the things again.

"It's just that, when you pick up the topic of 'what looks good', you can bet that I can't stop talking at all." There's probably a thousand things he can talk about when it comes to looking good, but he'll just leave it alone for now. "Sure. Let's play some games!" Though, he couldn't help but think that she's just going to lose a lot of money if she thinks that working with him is a good idea at all. He's been losing more times than winning, that's for sure. "You see that stall over there? They have a giant Hello Kitty plush up for a prize. I've been pretty much trying to get it. It's so cute?? I can't resist it." He might as well tell her what his target is. "But we can probably try other stalls too. Distractions." Both from no yukata and the giant plush he wanted.

"I hate being at home if my dogs don't exist. Let's just say that." His parents aren't really the people he wanted to meet for a prolonged amount of time. "If you want floof, then Masa IS the floofiest dog you'll ever meet. I'm convinced no other dog is more floofy than him. But he's also the most difficult to clean." But he still had a lot of fun cleaning out the dirt from the dog's coat. It wasn't much of a problem. "Oh right...Some people are allergic to dogs." Well, that's too bad. That means they'll never know how it feels to have a smart and friendly dog. What a shame.

"I WISH I had a sister. But I don't. Only kid." But he's still proud of the fact that he makes a very convincing looking girl. "Hehe~ Thanks!" He took the compliment head on. No context is the best context, but what is the most important is that he got validation from a girl that he makes a cute girl. Or just cute in general. "Nothing wrong with that. If you're comfortable, it shows people that you have confidence in what you are. At least...That's what I've been telling myself. I like anything that looks good on me." If that makes him look like a girl, then so be it. "Did you know that I actually beat the girls in my class at middle school in a school festival pageant? Well, to be fair, there isn't many competition. It was a small school. Festivals aren't usually packed either. I never told anybody that I was a guy. People just bought it?" He snickered. That was really only one of a few good memories he had back where he came from. "Awwww thanks~ And why not? You know there's actually thicker heels that allow you to walk normally? I don't just mean nine inch heels or lobster claws if that's what you're talking about."

"Ah - so...your interested in fashion then?" She assumed that would be the case considering the fact that he liked talking about it so much. It wasn't something that Minji had ever been interested in. So long as she could skateboard in it she'd wear it. So if he really got into talking about it she would probably be completely lost. "Well - lets go play then!" She was bouncing a tiny bit now - she liked playing games. It was a thing she was good at. "Hello Kitty huh?" She let her eyes drift over towards the stall he was talking about. "Ah - I can probably get it for you if you like?" She was...pretty good at festival games, or at least she wasn't awful so she might be able to get something for him. "I mean, or we could just go play others." If anything she probably felt a little bad for him if he wanted it that much, plus if it was that hard to get...she felt the need to try for it herself.

"Ah - well that sounds like a fun house!" She didn't want to bring up or delve into the whole thing with. She could kind of understand the whole thing about not talking about family. Minji didn't want to push so continued on ahead of him - turning to walk backwards and just barely avoiding people as she moved through the crowd. "Yeah, too bad for those people...but I suppose theirs like...medicine for that now anyway, huh?"

The girl let out a snort of laughter at the 'wanting a sibling' thing. "Dude no - siblings are not fun." She shook her head slightly - sure a sister might be different to a brother but she was still more than sure it would still be extremely annoying. "They can be a total pain. Plus - wouldn't a cute little sister...ruin your cute image?" If she was cuter than him at least...although she wasn' sure how much that might be possible considering he was...well the most adorable guy she'd ever met. "Anyway - if you bought them, they're your clothes and not girls, right?" She'd heard that somewhere before she was sure. Again, fashion was not her forte, and she didn't really think what you wore meant anything at all. So long as you were comfortable, why would you care about what others thought? "You beat all the girls? She wasn't all that surprised if the picture was anything to go by. With long hair he made a good girl. "I mean, if you could get away with it...you might as well?" 

"Dude I skateboard - a lot." She offered him a smile and turned to face the stall finally as she reached it. "Heels aint good for my usual stuff."

"Yes. Definitely. And not just the cutesy ones, mind you. You can look good in anything if you try. Simple things, you know?" He had to make that clear in case people start wondering if he's just a one trick pony with all the cute going on. "You mean, you're okay with winning it for me? I mean...Don't you want it too?" By all means, if she wants to get him the thing, she could. But he's afraid of actually having her change her mind and keeping it for herself. Well, you never know. "You're okay with giving something you won to me?"

"But, yeah. You're right. They could just take allergy medicine, I mean, they should. You know, cause dogs are great." He thought about that statement for a second. "But maybe some people just really really hate dogs. They don't have a medicine for that." He shrugged.

"Nuh uh. If I HAVE a sister, she wouldn't be the cutest, cause I won't cut her any slack. But I want a sibling cause I'd at least have someone to talk to while at home? Considering if they...Are nothing like my parents. Yeah." What is with all the hate he has for them? Time to change the subject again. They've returned to an uncanny valley of sorts. "Well yes. And another yes. THey would be my clothes and I did beat all the girls. But what happened after that was pretty weird. But then again, has anything ever been un-weird when I'm around?" He had to wonder. "Everyone suddenly stopped acknowledging that I won. I wonder why." So dense. So very dense. "I got away with it. But I guess they found out after a while. As with all lies. So no. I...Didn't get away with it, I guess?"

"Have you tried skating with pumps? Oh nevermind, even that sounds difficult to me." Well, seeing as he doesn't really like sports too much in general, it would be tough to do any hardcore sport stuff with them on.

[Minji]

“Ah - I guess thats right? I guess a lot of people look good in everything, huh?” Again she had no idea how fashion actually worked. It wasn't something she ever cared about. But she supposedd so long as you thought you looked good...nobody had the right to say anything different. “I dont really like plushies...no matter how big or cute they are.” She'd always thought they got less cute the bigger they were actually. “So if I did win it - I'd be happy to give it to somebody who actually wants it. Anyway - I dont really play to win things. I just play to win.” So really the plush wasn't something she cared about.

“Hm - yeah. I guess. If people dislike something nothing is gonna change their mind about it...unless they want that to happen I mean...”

Minji let out a slight huff. "Siblings, sisters and brothers aren't always a comfort in  situations like that." Evidently this was something they were going to talk about - even if she didn't really feel like it. Shun was obviously feeling something and...she couldn't just leave it like that. "Plus she'd be younger, right? You can't just rely on a younger kid like that." She knew her brother had miments when he'd get mire of her dads side than hers - and that was way worse than it just being her dad. She let out another hum - for real this time. She wasn't going to talk about family anymore. She was still pretty raw from her own issues and talking more about it was making her uncomfortable. "Well - I guess they must have, yeah..." She wasnt really sure what else to say on the matter. "I guess even thiugh it was a nice thing for you. It sounds like it was fun...but I guess they would have felt pretty stupid...." She was half sure thats what would have happened anyway. "You won though...so I guess you half got away with it."

"I tried like...once. And almost died." That was an exaggeration but it had felt that way at the time. "I think I'll stick to my usual." She turned her attention to the stall. She could see the Hello Kitty from the corner of her eye. It looked easy enough - a throwing game. It took her almost four tries but she eventually got it - grinning at the man there as he scowled and passed over the plush. "Ah - that was more difficult than I thought it would be."

"Not a fan of plushies? Well, consider yourself lucky then. Half of my dorm room is plushies and property of my guardian characters!" But he doesn't seem to mind, in fact, he's laughing about it. This is why he never has any roommates. He would have to recall his guardian characters from the other bed and they'd lose, well, their 'home' so to speak. They wouldn't be happy about that. But to normal people, it's probably the equivalent of sharing a room with imaginary friends.

Well, if it wasn't obvious before that they're both trying to walk around the topic, it's apparent now. "As if I don't rely on everyone already. You're right, I'm probably not the best older sibling in the world. Or ever." He's semi glad that he's an only child? But then again, it must be fun to have like minded siblings, right? Then again, when dealing with his parents, the chances of a somewhat decent or sane sibling is low. "Why aren't those contests open to everyone then? I can't believe that only girls get to join, yknow?" And he beat them, true that they would feel somewhat stupid, but it isn't his fault either that they couldn't tell. He's a professional.

"Wait, skate with pumps, or wear heels in general? If it's the latter, I think you might be exaggerating." He put his hands on his hips and raised a brow at that statement. Though he couldn't keep up that 'serious business' look for too long and ended up bursting in laughter. "Well, you wear whatever you want, right?" He waved his hands, dismissing what he said earlier about having her try the heels on again. "Remember, I want that one, right there!" He pointed to the biggest Hello Kitty plush in the stall. It took Minji more than four tries, but at least she didn't take more than 30 tries. Like he did. Oh his poor wallet. "Difficult?? You made it look so easy!" As she gave him the plushie, he can't help but clap and give the ridiculously large plush a big ol hug. "YAY! THANK YOU SO MUCH!" The owner of the stall rolled his eyes at the prize he just gave away.

As they walk around the festival, it's apparent that the plush is almost as big as he is. Almost. And he's walking around carrying it like it's nothing. "I must look like a walking life size Hello Kitty right now!" He can't help but giggle at this. "But it's toootally okay."

[Minji]

"Half of the room? No roommate then?" That sounded a little lonely actually. Sure it might have been nice to have more room, but it also didn't seem like it would be any fun. "I mean, plushies are cute - but I don't really have room for them. I don't think my roommate would be too happy if I filled the room with them." She was sure of that actually. Her mess took up enough room, so adding to it really wouldn't be all that good. Having the entire room to herself wouldn't have been very fun though, or at least she thought. Even if it meant that Paii and Vaii would have one side to themselves.

She let out a small snort. If he didn't think he'd make a good older brother, she certainly didn't make a good sister to her brother. "Kid siblings can be a bother. I'm not such a good big sister myself." She was okay in the sense that she could take care of him. But...her personality and hobbies really weren't good things for a kid to learn from. "It's cause...most things are still pretty rigid, y'know. Most people just...don't like guys who can pass as girls and stuff. Plus its kind of like that old traditional thing. It's not good, but its there." She shrugged, she certainly didn't agree with most peoples views on everything, but it didn't change the fact that he would encounter more people like that than anything else. 

"I have tried with both." Escaping from family parties was a good past time of hers. "Neither have great grip. Dresses are okay to skate in though - not sure about this yukata though." She'd never tried that...she looked down at her outfit. She could try though right? She had one on so she shouldn't waste the opportunity. She'd have to try it out later. 
"What are you talking about?" That had been more difficult than other games she played throughout the day. "That took four goes! For me that was hard." She nodded her head slightly - although she was very sure that he wouldn't have been able to see her behind the large head of the plushy.

Minji let out a snort of laughter at his words. Around them, people were certainly looking and she spotted a few kids pointing and pulling at their parents clothes. "Ah - looks like some of the kids around think you really are -"

"I guess if there's an advantage to being one of the more unlikeable bunch is that you don't have to share your room. I mean, I never had a room that big before, y'know?" Not to mention the big gaping hole in his room where he once lived. Being surrounded by the woods makes whacking whatever tries to get in a daily pastime. "And I don't have to play whack a mole at night anymore cause there isn't a hole in my dorm room." He seems happy, at least. How did he live past his childhood, even. "But yeah, now I have extra room to stash all the plushies I got in there!"
