There was one thing Ji-Yoo really hated. Besides sports. And math. And people. Okay, she hated almost everything, but shopping with mom was somewhere up there, among the things that should totally disappear from this planet. One would say that a rich girl should be into buying the latest clothes and purses and accessories, but not Ji-Yoo. The first year found shopping a waste of money, especially since she was at school most of the day and had to wear her uniform. Of what use would be to her a closet full of clothes she’ll never wear? If she learned one useful thing in her 15 years of life was that if you wanted to get by in life, you had to be practical.

Naturally, Ji-Yoo’s mom was aware of her daughter’s reluctant personality and had developed a strategy in order to get her to buy a dress for her upcoming 16th birthday. She asked Okazaki-san, the driver, to bring her to a certain shop in Downtown Otonoki instead of their house after picking her up from school. Said and done! But what mom didn’t know…was that Ji-Yoo came up with a strategy AGAINST her strategy. Thus, after suggesting that she should also buy a dress, the girl fled the shop right after mom got into the changing room. She might not have the brains for school, but she knew how to get by.

But now she was all alone wandering the streets. Home was still a long way, and she couldn’t go there on her own. As she was walking further and further, Ji-Yoo started to feel a bit uneasy. Was it everything that had happened lately… with those two guys? Or her augmenting insecurities? Or perhaps her mood was influenced by the strong negative aura emanated by a hoard of x-eggs floating in her vicinity? What? X-eggs? Strategy failed? Abort mission? Ji-Yoo swallowed a lump stuck in her throat, debating for a second whether she should run away. Sure, she could character transform now and somehow figured out her power, but she’s never actually had to do with real danger. Most of all, she was…alone.

Miuna had been avoiding the school for days now, spending nearly all her time in downtown otonoki or at the Faberge building. It wasn't that she was trying to skip classes again; she'd grown out of that phase a while back. It was more of the issue of the infirmary. She hadn't expected one guy to pose such a big problem to everyone else, but things had taken a complete turn for the worse. Now she was running away, from the problems with her friends and the entire egg hunter ordeal. She hadn't signed up to fight a literal hoard of egg breakers. Corrupted eggs were here thing, they always here.

Sighing, she shoved her hands in her pockets and kept walking. It felt like ever since that train station had opened the number of X-eggs were disappearing. Whether that was due to these stupid West Otonoki kids stealing them for fights or what, Miuna didn't know. What she did know was that she was terribly out of practice. She used to fight X-eggs every night and now she was lucky if she got one once a week. Sure, she could train with the trees in the park but they didn't offer the thrill of a real battle. She wanted to feel that power pulsing through her as she launched an attack against an X-egg, feel the wind in her hair from a proper aerial dodge.

Miuna puffed up her cheeks and kicked at a rock on the ground, nearly ready to go beat up some loser in an alleyway when she felt it. That familiar wave of an X-egg, that sudden despair that crept into her egg sense. Trying her best not to get overly excited, she leaped around the corner. It was close, it was close, it was clo---

Oh, shit. Wasn't that a Seiyo student? Wait a second, wasn't that the girl from the infirmary?! "Hey, hey!" She called out to the girl, running up to her as she felt the X-egg presence get closer, "You should really head back. I have a feeling it's gonna get dangerous here real soon, you might not want to stick around."

The girl had come as an answer to Ji-Yoo’s dilemma. If someone was there to assist her, at least until she got the hang of things, she wanted to believe that she was powerful enough to make it on her own. Besides, she couldn’t be a wuss forever. “Oh, liquid gold…” The first year covered her mouth to stop herself from saying more than necessary. She finally recognized the girl from the infirmary and also… a certain Guardian tea party. And also… wasn’t she also the one on twitter who kept going on and on about burning things? Ah well, it was none of Ji-Yoo’s business how the girl presented herself as long as she could help.

“Ah, no, I prefer to stay.” The first year stated simply. She felt guilty for leaving that time at the infirmary. She still found her reasoning from that time right, but something was slowly starting to change within her. Running away like that just… didn’t seem morally right. Ji-Yoo started to have second thoughts especially after she found out that one of the students there had been badly injured. It was something she would absolutely hate to go through, but having someone get hurt while protecting her weighted too heavily on her conscience. (well, not essentially HER, but she was still part of the bigger group that was being protected)

“You’re a first year too. If you can fight then so can I.”

"Ah..." Miuna felt a nervous laugh bubble up as the girl mentioned the liquid gold. Was that really how people saw her now?! "Not really. Gold paint with a bit of extra stuff to thicken it. I wouldn't recommend it, really hard to wash out once you get it...well... everywhere." That had been one hell of a night in her room's bathroom, and if her roommate didn't hate her by now then it was a holy miracle. Their bathroom had gold flecks sticking on the tile for days. They had to call the school just to get a cleaning service to come in.

Wait, wait. This wasn't the time for those musings. There were X-eggs afoot and they had to be stopped. The other girl didn't seem like she wanted to go but Miuna wasn't so sure she could handle it. After all, she had been at the infirmary that one time and despite sensing her egg, Miuna couldn't recall seeing a transformation. "Are you.... are you sure?" She asked this as she jogged in the direction of the despair, her egg sense going wild with the thickening corruption.

"Not that I don't think you're serious or anything, but can you.... y'know, fight?" Though she hadn't yet transformed, she could feel the X-eggs drawing nearer, "Like weird magical girl fight with swords and spells and shit?"

She loved singing so much. This was the only place she was able to do what she loved without any limitations, no one tell her to stop, no one to tell her she couldn't sing-- she could perform and not have a care in the world. But a feeling nagged at her in the back of her mind as she did so.

Her parents didn't approve.

They wanted her to be a doctor in the family's clinic but she wanted to sing. She wanted to stand in front of an audience and belt out her voice until she couldn't speak. But she knew her parents didn't approve, the guilt sitting in her stomach as she stood downtown performing in secret.

But the longer she sang, the smaller the feeling would get. Becoming enveloped in a strong energy that seemed to wrap itself around her as she grew more and more passionate in her performing, a small audience building without her knowledge. The eggs accumulated in front of her, aimlessly hovering in the air as they began to slowly surround her. Her audience. The longer she sang the more seemed to appear, following her voice one by one...

Ji-Yoo ignored the story about gold paint, it eas indeed not the time to be talking about these sort of things. She could sense eggs nearby, but the feeling was very different from what she’d experienced so far. There must be a lot of them, which was scary. Maybe if the two worked together they could take down whatever the threat was. Unless it was one of those egg breakers. Compared to others, they seemed to have incredible power- even one of them could tear right through a team of students.

Upon the other girl asking whether she could fight, Ji-Yoo tried to look sure of herself and her power, although it might not have come out quite the way she wanted. “Um… yeah?” I mean, she did try to explore her transformation, but fighting was something she’d never done before. To prove herself to Miuna, she activated her character transformation first. Her appearance changed but her personality also seemed to undergo a 180* turn. Ji-Yoo seemed more charismatic, happy and confident.

“Oh and don’t worry if you get in trouble, I’ll make sure to save you!” The girl declared boldly, her earls fluffing-up.

Trying to figure out where the corruption was coming from, Ji-Yoo analyzed the surroundings carefully and nothing seemed quite amiss. Except for a faint tune, which would otherwise be normal, taking into account that there were plenty of street performers in Downtown Otonoki. But this one… there was something off about it. The voice singing it clearly carried along the sound of oncoming doom.

Miuna wasn't so sure about this girl until she saw the transformation, her eyes brighter than a child at Christmas. She looked the girl up and down, hopping around from the excitement at yet another egg warrior. Grinning wildly now she activated her own transformation and leapt off. In the sunlight the gems on her outfit sparkled brilliantly and she winked at the girl's statement.

"I'll hold you to that then," She replied, already scaling up buildings to try to find the source of the corruption. From where she had perched on her spear like a bird, she activated her egg sense and called down to the girl below her, pointing at the strange singer that seemed to be swimming in despair. Her sound was lovely but her audience was a bit lacking in proper human bodies.

"Over there, with the singer! We've got to stop the song!" Miuna jumped from her staff, swinging in the air and dropping down next to the girl. It was clear that the song was drawing more and more eggs around her but Miuna didn't care. An enemy as large as this was normal compared to those terribly evil Egg Hunters. With the other's help, the two of them could handle this no sweat.

Crossing her arms, Miuna poofed her spear and looked at the other. They were garnering some stares from the ground but she waved them off, mumbling something about a new Faberge presentation. "So, got a plan?" She asked, surveying the scene laid out before the two.

The more eggs appeared the more energy the young girl seemed to pour into her song, the strength of the emotions swirling around her slowly and gradually raising as she continued. A large, although twisted, smile appeared on her face. She felt...ecstatic, a sudden rush coming over her as if she could tell she was attracting quite the crowd.

This would show them, wouldn't it?

She could really do it. She could really entertain a large crowd if she put her heart and emotion into it! She knew she could. She just knew it...why couldn't they see that? Why couldn't they see just how much attention she was getting just from a street performance?

She'd just have to keep going. She'd have to keep singing....until she was surrounded by people who understood. She'd show them then for sure.
