It was a....Rabbit hunt? No, Rabbit-go-seek. Is it a real rabbit? Is it a guy in a rabbit suit? They should really make more details! Wearing red ribbon? That's all he heard. He wants to be the first to find the rabbit, just for the sake of popularity. And maybe for the chance of keeping a fluffy bunny. Maybe. Spot a rabbit with a red ribbon, sounds easy enough. That is, if he didn't try to complicate things the way he did. Now there are three possibilities : A rabbit with a red ribbon (literal rabbit), A guy in a rabbit suit with a red ribbon, or a floating rabbit's foot from the inter-dimensional portal of rabbits.com. He is bound to find something that matches these descriptions, but where oh where, to start...

Soon he stumbles upon someone. Another idea sparked in his head. WHAT IF : The guy is on break, and the chance of them  being in a rabbit suit previously is 120%, therefore rendering his decision to see and possibly capture a rabbit be spot on every time? YES! THat's gotta be it! There's no way they'd make it THAT easy for him. He always knew he isn't the smartest guy but he knows he's right this time. He just knows! Making the first move, he decided to tackle TALL EASTER BUNNY.

[Nao]

If anyone on campus loved rabbits, it was certainly he, Hanabusa Nao, who had to love them the most. This in mind, when he'd heard rumors about a beloved bunny rabbit actually being on campus, right now, he felt as though he'd already been blessed with amazing luck just for being in the same area as one of his beautiful bunnies. He went about his day all-smiles, perfectly content with life and all it had to offer when-

"AAAH!" Suddenly Nao was lurching forward, his arms splaying out wildly to catch himself. Something had...fallen on him? Attacked him? Was it an angry teacher? A wild animal?! He hit the ground hard with a yelp as his knees buckled. Blinking in confusion once the initial shock wore off, he twisted around to see who or what had tackled him. He was quite stunned when he saw it was a rather short male student.

"Hello," he greeted tentatively, slightly amazed as to how someone so small could be so powerful, "umm...was I in your way?"

"Gahahaha! I've caught you! Now I don't have to go sell my cellphone to cover this month's expenses!" He seemed pleased with himself, after just tackling a tall guy like Nao down. "By luck, you mean, finances, right? My mam and pap are both strapped for cash again. Please, magic bunny of luck, can you give me the financial luck?" He still believes that Nao is the guy who was in the bunny suit and therefore technically a rabbit. "Eh? Where's your red ribbon? Was I...Was I wrong?" He searched Nao, head to toe, panicking when he didn't find a red ribbon on him. "I mean...Sorry! Sorry! I was looking for the lucky rabbit and thought you are a lucky rabbit." Well, anyone with a lick of sense could tell him that a rabbit and a human being are two different things. But his flawed logic says otherwise.

"Are you okay? Hurt anywhere? I doubt I can hurt people too badly... Not with my limp noodle arms..." Still, he had to make sure. "Oh no! Your shirt is dirty! Uhhhh...I can clean that up for you! Or maybe buy you a new shirt! Oh boy...I feel really bad..." He also tackled someone to the ground, whoops. He's pretty sorry for that, too. "I know! I'll buy you lunch for a week maybe?? I don't know..." Maybe he should just give this guy his name. Yeah. That way he could ask him for a favor later or something. "If you decide, I guess you can tell me now or later. Iwajima Shun, second year. If you ever need to yell at me, or something else." A nervous grin showed itself on his face. Third years. Go figure, they probably have something in mind. Best to just give it a go with a smile.

[Nao]

The strange short boy's words flew by Nao so fast, he wasn't quite sure what was even going on although he tried his best to pick up what he could. He wanted...money? Well if that was the case then it made sense why he picked Nao of all people to attack. There were few better choices in the 'attack for money' department, given Nao's affluent parents and inability to run away. However, when Nao listened closer, he felt his heartstrings tug somewhat for the smaller boy...maybe it was because he was so short he looked like a child? Well, he didn't want anyone to have to go selling their phone to make ends meet. Feeling responsible somehow, Nao lifted his hands palms-outward. 

"It's okay," he said sheepishly, "I'm used to falling down and stuff, just...give me a second to..." He didn't want to admit to this perfect stranger that being startled triggered his cataplexy and made it rather difficult to regain reliable use of his legs. Instead, he tried, "Nice to meet you! Umm...you know, it's okay, I may not be wearing a red ribbon but I can still give you a prize for catching me!" Nevermind that catching Nao was a very easy thing to do. 

Reaching his hand up, Nao gave an apologetic but friendly smile, "Would you mind helping me up? I'm...a bit bigger than you, but..."

"Eh? Used to it?" Does he have a peg leg or something? He's never heard of anyone who can get used to falling down on the ground. For one, the ground isn't a good place to sleep, unless it's made up of pillows. "Prize, for catching you? Umm...I don't think that's necessary!" Gosh, did he feel bad about this entire thing, and maybe this guy is just giving him a pity prize or something. He had to work for even the consolation prize, so this shouldn't be any different. "Oh, sure. Here, hold on to my hands and I'll pull you up!" He said, extending both arms just so he can better balance himself when pulling bigger people. Legs planted firmly on the ground, he gave it his all trying to make sure this guy stands and in good balance.

"You want something to drink or eat? I can buy you something? Or make you something? I haven't eaten my lunch yet, so you can take that? Ohhh...What else do I have..." Lunch money was usually his immediate go-to when repaying someone or something, even though he didn't have much. "And I don't know how much of the wish I made you heard, but pleaaaaase don't pay any attention to that!" Shun would typically forget about things as his attention span is usually very short, but to have someone else hear about this as a first impression? It leaves enough of an impact on him to remember to retract his own words. "I can handle it myself, but it kind of helps to wish, sort of? Eheheh..." He can't help but feel a little bit of shame, wishing luck on a falling star or a lucky rabbit, but wishing usually makes things better. Usually.

"Are you looking for the rabbit yourself? If you are, then uhhh...I don't know how much help I'll be after tackling you down, but maybe we can work together? How about you keep 80% of the luck? I am fine with just 20%!" He flashed a grin, thinking it made sense. But you just don't split luck like that.

[Nao]

“You don’t have to give me any of your lunch…” Nao murmured as he brushed any dust away from his clothes, smiling sheepishly. He probably couldn’t eat it anyway–technically he was supposed to keep a strict and healthy diet to best serve his health given his illnesses…not that he was very loyal to it. Sometimes he ate junk food all day and sometimes he just didn’t eat at all. Either way, he wasn’t about to take Shun’s lunch after that speech about the poor kid selling his phone. He’d find a way to sneak the boy a ¥10,000 bill later on in the day, he resolved.

“No lunch, but I will take all the luck I can get. I’m awfully unlucky.” Lifting his hands, Nao grabbed Shun’s and yanked on them clumsily, lifting himself off the ground just a couple inches and then…

“By the way I’m- oh fuck!” Too soon. Nao’s legs were still a little weak, more than a bit wobbly, and he only succeeded in falling back down and this time taking Shun down with him. Laid out on the ground again, Nao sighed, “Sorry. And, um, sorry for saying ‘fuck’. And I’m sorry for saying it again now. And I’m Hanabusa Nao.”

"But I...I have to do something, it's not me to not want to own up to a mistake..." And he felt even worse as he couldn't even keep the taller boy standing. "Hey! You alright? Whoa!" He didn't even get the chance to talk some more when he was pulled into the fall as well. Good thing the ground is soft, since he faceplanted on to it when he fell. Soil tastes gritty and bitter. He'd make a useless mental note about that. "At least you have a name now." He said, spitting out some mud and dirt from his mouth. "Sorry for saying? fu--" That's when it hit him, he's not supposed to repeat that word. He quickly covered his mouth before saying anything. "Ah! No problem at all! I wouldn't stop you from saying it, it's just reflex, right? I mean, it would be easier to say than 'Oh firetrucks!'" He stood up once more, dusting the dirt from his clothes.

"Need all the luck you can get? Then I say, take the full 100% of it." He went back to what he said earlier. Is it really his bad luck that got him tackled to the ground? "But I'll still help with finding the rabbit. I think maybe...I can call it even if we find it, and I'll let you keep all the luck." Being luckless sounded bad. "Alright. Let's do it one more time. You think you can stand this time? Or you can use my arm as a handrest. I mean, I've been complimented as the number one armrest in my old school! Lots of people just come over and think I'm a side table. It's kind of funny, really." He laughed a little bit. Even when things don't seem to be going too well, he had a knack for enjoying every shred of positivity that could come from it, rather than on the negatives.

"But I'm the most beautiful and reliable side table slash handrest ever!" He held his hand out again to help Nao get up from the ground. "Let's go find you that rabbit, huh? I'd like to see you get all the luck in the world!" Shun grinned, he is definitely excited to be able to help with something. Anything. With whatever ability he had. "I wonder if we can also stumble upon alien technology to copy the lucky rabbit and produce more luck? And then maybe you'd have 1 billion percent luck!" His imaginations are running at full speed again. "Ah, but first!" He took out his phone and snapped a picture of the both of them real quickly. But the image was a blur. He's not good at multitasking, really. "Memories! Yay!" Maybe he'd part ways with the device soon, but he wants to record everything before he does.
