The deed was done. The instigating teenager had baited out the serpent from its hole. It was perfect. He was finally going to face the demon that's caused so many problems for others. Happily, the male was leveled up enough to finally try to stand up to whatever was to be expected. As he started for his destination, his guardian egg in his messenger bag, he hummed, "I don't even know if I should feel relieved or feel frightened. 

It all started months ago. A random twitter account by the name of infochandes was created and had spread terrible rumors and some dark secrets for the school to see. Obviously, the account had called out Masahiko on some shit and it pissed him off. Unfortunately, the boy is really big on reputation at it hurt him so much to see that this twitter knew more than enough on the male. With those tweets, one of his companions, Miuna was brought into some of these tweets with him. Of course, Masahiko was disappointed that she was dragged into the mix and by his promise, he did all he could to protect her online. He's messaged infochandes, talked mad shit about them and tried to barter with them but then today was the day the bastard revealed that they frequent the nearby park.

The blonde had reached for his phone, sullenly texting Miuna about where to meet him. A recent incident at the Planeterium sort of drove them apart and because of that, it was hard to converse with her. He couldn't even find the right way to just say he was sorry without feeling the urge to gut himself like a fish. She was pretty much all he had and it was hard enough that they barely talked ever since the mountain trip. He sighed in desperation, planning to meet her at the bus station before the entrance of the park. He sauntered to the seat, not even trying to look at her when she showed up.

Miuna had been in her dorms when she'd first received the strange messages from the upperclassman. Things between the two of them had been strained since the two faction events. The girl was less than thrilled to watch as the other spread despair amongst his peers, nearly turning some of them X. He was walking a dangerous path with no return, destroying not only ties between his classmates but his own as well. There had always been something different about conversations with the boy, a topic Miuna brought up with Sasaki-san shortly before the Sports Festival. Now he claimed he was trying to change, leaving Miuna to either believe him or leave him in the dust.

She chose the former, setting up a small training session with Kazuki as soon as she could. As thrilled as both parties were at the thought of fighting each other, Miuna knew that her ex's talents would serve as good practice for the newly transformed fighter. Kazuki's battle style was similar to that of an X-egg, always dodging away from danger but a threat nonetheless. For the two of them it was also a chance to observe Masahiko's fighting style. No matter what happened, Miuna wanted to know the abilities of every single egg user in Seiyo.

The more she knew, the easier it would be to fight them all.

Now she stood at the park, emerging from the shadows of the trees to stand behind the park bench. She'd taken great care in arriving quietly, observing the area for any signs of traps. Miuna had no interest in being tricked by the other but the coast seemed clear enough. "Are we really meeting him here?" She asked, speaking up finally from her place behind the other.

Masahiko was a little distraught, feeling the girl's presence. He never knew he was truly going to see her again. He looked behind him, staring up at Miuna with the most heartbroken face. He gradually stood, seeing a face hers actually made him upset. He muttered a small, "Hey" from his lips. He pushed his hands into his pockets, staring off at the trees in the park. "Yeah, we're meeting em' out here." His eyes were glassy, almost feeling like a complete asshole for what he's done to people for the past few weeks. He couldn't bare to look at her innocence. He just wanted to destroy the bastard ruined his reputation and run faraway as he could. He walked a few steps from his position and stated, "I just wanna get this over with." The teen crossed his arms before taking a few steps, waiting for this infochandes shows up.

Never looking back, he waved his fingers in a 'come here' notion and called out to her, "But more importantly, I need you." He crossed his arms again and continued his destination to a clearing field in the area. His mind wandered away from the first year and onto the infochandes. His top priority was to defeat this possible x egg and help heal the relationship between Miuna and him. He really hated doing all of this hurtful stuff to someone who was just guiding into a more positive light. He regretted hurting such a strong soul as her. Ugh, look, going to her again. Not right now. He shifted towards the positives of the meeting and his guardian climbed out of his bag. Lilith flew onto his shoulder and rejoiced, "Akiyama? How are you?" He flew next to the girl, slightly tugging her hair. "Please forgive my dear boy for being such a rebel. Do not let him hurt you. I know you are a much more powerful than person than that. Do not let him do that to you." Lilith backed away and looked deeply at Miuna. "You are going to need to hold some bonds dearly and let some go. I vow that you will make the right decision." He patted her head and spoke with the most gentle tone as they walked to the center of the park, "Phillipians 4: 6-7: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Masahiko turned back to face the two again, feeling nothing but hopelessness and despise towards himself for hurting such a beautiful soul as Miuna.

Miuna kept her expression void as she stepped out from behind the bench and closer to the middle of the field. In the short time since the last time they had seen each other something had occurred. There was an air about her that was more mature, a sense of responsibility she insisted on holding. In only a few weeks she'd cut herself off from most of her classmates, isolating herself to a select few she could trust. None of them knew the truth behind the sudden change and she insisted on keeping it that way. The Guardian event had only furthered her dislike of extremely close bonds.

She had a handful of people she could trust and she intended to keep it that way until she knew she was in the clear. It wasn't anything personal, just precautionary.

"I'm well," she replied, crossing her arms while Lapis flew up to meet them, resting quietly by her side, "Though I wouldn't worry much about him hurting me. I could hold my own, need be." If anything, he should have been more scared of her. "How are you? Are you feeling all right, nothing out of place? It's been a while since we last saw each other."  Their day at the cafe had been her one chance to see the tiny guardian but since then their meetings had been few and far between.  When the other recited the lines, Miuna quieted down.  She wasn't much of a religious person - at most her family went to temple during the holidays.  Nevertheless she appreciated the words of the other.  It wasn't often she had the chance to hear translated versions of a western text. 

"I'll keep that in mind..." She replied, turning back to the other, "So, why have you decided to meet him or her now of all times?  Whoever Info-chan is has quieted down, I wouldn't think such a confrontation would be a good idea.  We might stir the account up again and that's something neither of us want."

As usual, Masahiko felt unwanted. He scratched his elbow, standing in the center. I guess this is what he deserved. To be let go like a lost lamb. Fine. If that's what he gets, he understands.

Lilith felt proud for his boy's friend. She really was strong at heart. He was proud of her and he wished his own boy was that rich in strength towards himself rather than to others in vain. He waved at Lapis with the most polite of waves. He wanted to ensure her that everything is going to be okay. Gently, he stared at his vessel. He looked hurt, almost destroyed. He waited for this twitter account owner to confront them. He wanted to face them, hoping to just get rid of this entity. However, Miuna was right. A confrontation wouldn't be a good idea but it's only to find out what they're doing and why they're doing it. Masahiko sat on the grass, looking at the sky above them, "Even they are quiet, doesn't mean they'll not speak up with high activity later. They've targeted too many, including us and I need it to stop. What if this is an x-egg trying to play games with us. Multiple even. Think about that. Takeo stopped the first, why another one of the same name to arrive and cause similar turmoil. Don't you want to find out?" He then turned around to face her. "I might be the last guy you even want to talk to but I'm honest when I say I want to help you. You might not even want to trust me but I simply just want things to end." The remorse on his face could be tricky or truly sadness, yet honestly, Masahiko just wanted everything to end, even this silent quarrel.

Looking out into the atmosphere, the boy then stated, waiting on the bastard to show his face, "Do you remember when we took a trip to the mountains? I never truly thanked you for such a time."

Miuna looked off to the side, staring into the distance. There weren't that many people at the park at this hour, a few homeless people looking for a place to sleep. She thought back to what people had said at the Faberge event. "If they keep popping up, then it's a never-ending war," she said, mimicking the words of some of their classmates. The words were bitter in her mouth but even she had to admit they came out just a bit too easily. It was nice taking the responsibility off of herself for a moment. The idea of a much larger battle was something she couldn't face alone. If it didn't end, even she could take a break instead of rushing to some sort of final battle that might or might not exist.

"But you're right. At the very least we have to figure out why the person was replaced. If there's more of them out there then there might be someone even worse than the last one. They might have even more info on us," she sighed angrily, finally looking at him with that worn look. The last few months of fighting by herself had taken a seriously toll on her health. She had the strained appearance of someone who had been working too far into the night, the shadows of bruises from multiple battles. That fight with Kouya and Captain had left a serious mark on her face that she'd been covering up for ages with make up. The blast from the library fight still ached in her chest and the tightness of her limbs worsened with every extra bit of energy she exerted. She needed to go home and rest, but that wasn't an option anymore.

She was stuck at Seiyo, and so her watch continued.

His mention of the mountains was a surprise though, and she shrugged. "'s nothing much. Kazu-kun used to take me hiking all the time when things got messy. It's not for everyone, but if you manage to get past the bugs and the lack of basic utilities it's really nice. Besides, I think both of us needed a short break from life. School kind of sucks, you know?"

Stop before you say something you'll regret. Masahiko looked at the grass, unsure of what to say. His eyes darted away from her after she spoke about the mountains. She looked messed up honestly. He put his hands on his hips, wondering where did she go wrong? Why did she look so sick? Did he do that? Was she fighting too much and too hard? He didn't want her to be like he was on the mountain trip, going alone and fighting alone. Energy looked like it was dimming from her face and he wanted her to stop doing this by herself. He had fucked up and she was simply scrutinizing her own body because of many factors. One of these factors was the person from the computer. "Yeah, there could be more of them and if there are, we are going to get rid of them, no matter long it takes." He looked at Miuna now, bold stare and all. He stuffed his hands in his pockets, staring her down like a concerned parent. "How long have you been fighting by yourself because right now, it needs to stop." He fully faced her with a distinct looked in his eye, jaw clenched and nose flared. "I am not gonna treat you like a child and I'm not gonna handicap you but Miuna, you seriously cannot just sit here and fight by yourself. Yes, others including I have mocked your abilities and others have mocked this whole ordeal but seeing you like this is not suitable. What did I text you, huh? If you wanna be a knight, you're going to need a whole squadron on your back. You cannot be a solo fighter every single time. When the time is golden for these X-Eggs and X-charas coming to raid us and you look drawn out like this, weak looking and tired, who are you gonna save? Not many or none at all." He stepped a little closer to her, eyes becoming observant and daring, "As Daichi, Takeo, Junko and the others got your back, I wanna do the same. I recently just got these abilities. I've been training non-stop so I can at least be of some use. I want to devote what I can so you don't have to work as hard. Let's work together as we promised before."

Masahiko never took his eyes off of the first year. He never thought that his actions caused so much. He never thought that his behavior made her this distant from her. It pissed him off. He never knew that this was what he done. He heard a small rustle in the trees. Yeah, there really weren't many people out here and the nature that moved was different than what he remembered back home. It was more expressive than as dead as he used to think. He just wanted everything to be alright for himself, his friends, everyone. He could feel a small twinge in his chest, his eye patch now blooming from his left eye. "Miuna, I mean everything I say when it comes to who I care about and why I want to do much for them. You're one of them and that has never changed. I know I have been a complete nuisance to you and your morals and I offer my deepest apologies. If you don't want to forgive me, punch me in my face, even laugh at me or yell at me, go ahead. I deserve it. You might believe what I'm saying is utter bull. Yet, I mean what I say, negative or not. I'm trying my hardest to change for everyone. I truly am. And I want that infochan to know that they have messed with us for the last time and we will destroy their whole network, together."

His softly smiled, patting the girl's head, "I'm sorry I've caused hell for you but maybe, we can start over whenever you are ready to."

Miuna listened to the other's words with a blank face, finally sighing at the end of it all. She felt as though he was blaming himself for most of what happened when in reality it was out of both of their hands. There was a lot she had to work for, a lot she'd been covering while the others trained. She was indeed haggard from the patrolling she insisted on taking for Faberge, but there were also other matters. Family, home life, relationships - they were slowly seeping through the cracks in the walls she had built up. She had to be professional in all of this and separate personal from business. School was a business, it always had been. When she was at Seiyo she was able to keep up the front of the high school girl she longed for. Personal was home and her parents and everything she took care of by herself. Sometimes the problems between the two were interchangeable but lately they just kept piling up. In the end they toppled over and flooded her mind with anxiety and worry.

She'd let those small fragments escape. She had shown weakness, she had proven herself to be vulnerable. She tucked that in the back of her mind, saving it for another time. Plans had to be set in motion to hide her tracks.

She didn't want a squadron, she just wanted some peace again. The best part of fighting alone was the sheer freedom she got to experience. Sitting atop buildings with empty streets below her and the wind in her hair was something not many people experienced. She didn't mind jumping around at night. She didn't want underlings, she wanted allies that could go out and fight the same battles she could. She wanted comrades who could help her get the job done quicker instead of waiting for her orders. She wasn't a leader, not yet at least.

"Our enemies have grown," Miuna finally said, grabbing his hand from atop her head, "When I first started out, there were only X-eggs. Now there are X-characters, X-students, those people from the other school. Failure is not an option, it never was. I wasn't ready when I started fighting, and neither are you."

She paused for a moment, trying her best to think of how to word her statements. "None of us are. But we're the best this town's got. I don't need a squadron, I'm not a soldier. I am a knight though and I have people I want to protect. If you want to fight beside me, well.... I won't allow it. I'm not a team player, I don't do teams for a reason. I don't like having to rely solely on the actions of another to have my back. I don't trust anyone to."

Miuna took another second for herself, twisting her hand around to give him a a firm handshake. Without her transformation she was so much shorter than him but still she stood as tall as she could. She was more powerful than he was, he was taller than her. It was an equal trade-off. "But if you're so keen on fighting, then dedicate yourself to the same cause as Takeo-senpai and I. No more causing despair, no more fighting other students. If you're going to do this, you're going to have to give it your all. Just because I don't want a team doesn't mean I don't need allies. We all need each other whether or not we want to admit it," she shrugged, offering him a small smile, "Besides, Sasaki-san is expecting a lot from Faberge's newest recruit. We wouldn't want to disappoint her."

The blonde. His stare never broke. His eyes were so lost in how the girl just looked so strong and ready. Maybe she was tired because she fought hard. She devoted her time to serve by herself because she wanted. Masahiko joined Faberge not because he wanted to put himself out there in the public eye but because he was trying to improve with character; try and gain a heart. Honestly, he felt like everything was his fault and maybe it was. Gripping to the boy's hand, his eyes finally fluttered, inhaling deeply. He...hated himself. It was great that she was fighting for what she believed was best d he supported her. Always did. God, what did he do? He couldn't stand on Takeo-kun and hers' standards. They truly had affection for what they believed in. The blonde had to think on how to fall on their level. Stop despair? Unfortunately, the male couldn't stop. Many reasons to he couldn't stop. He suffered. He suffered so hard and people needed to pay for what they put him through. Miuna probably suffered too. However, that just didn't matter.  "Miuna, I..." His eyes looked a little distraught, "I'm lonely. I'm learning to stand on my own two feet finally. I'm learning but as I'm learning, I'm failing. People are leaving because I'm failing."

As he was going to speak on that note, Masahiko just couldn't bare to open his mouth to tell her what's wrong with why he couldn't promise to change that far yet. The handshake startled him. The proposition shook him. He couldn't even take a step further. His snatched his hand his away from the small hands, crouching to the floor in a squat. Why? Why us? God, it was too much. Yes, they were all this town had. They weren't forced to fight but they chose too. She was strong willed. Miuna was a knight. He could he see it. No match for him. He looked at the blades of grass below his feet. Ugh, the foliage below her was uplifting and green. Under him? It was a dead patch. Black and white was obviously how he saw this. Why does he have to be the bad one? Why did God hate him so? All he wished was to care for someone that he admired, someone he looked up to and he fucked up. He fucked up and such a strong ally was distant from him. He buried his face in his knees. He pulled his hair in utter frustration. He just couldn't help but shake his head, trying to erase the word out his mind.

God, he was so sorry. Yet, it needed to be done. He needed everyone to just feel his pain in why he made the decisions he made. He was so sorry. His eye-patch faded like the sun in the sky. His spirit was so fragile. He was going to end up being no good and he knew it. Miuna couldn't be around him. He warned her and because of what he did, she was probably going to leave him. He knew it. He absolutely knew it. His eyes shut tightly. His heart was swelling with pain. Miuna, you're too good. You're too pure. You're too fearless. And he...Harada Masahiko. He was such a --.

...failure.

Masahiko opened his mouth. The only sound that left his throat was the sound of a unbearable scream of distress and vulnerability. 

[Miuna]

Miuna had been expecting some sort of agreement, a nod in her direction or a promise to follow their cause. After all this fighting she had expected some sort of conclusion. Instead, he repeated the same words he always had. He was lonely, but how was he lonely? She watched on twitter as he went out with so many people. It seemed like his social life was thriving, even more so than her own. Could there be more to it all? Perhaps his problems went farther than just eggs and despair. Listening to him speak was like listening to a recording of herself.

"But nobody is leaving, Senpai," She said with determination. No one was walking away from him anymore. Even she had returned to his side, slowly but surely. "Everyone wants to hang out with you. Dai-senpai and Archery Club... and now Faberge too! We're all here for you to lean on, you don't have to be lonely anymore."

When he crouched down, she followed. This was all confusing her more and more. One second he was trying to save her, now he was on the ground.

"Senpai, what's wrong? Are you hurt, did someone attack you?" Miuna looked around for any possible threat in the area. Could this be the work of info-chan? They were still a bit too early for the meeting but was there a surprise attack from somewhere? She activated her egg-sense but there was nothing out of the ordinary in the area. No eggs other than hers and Masahiko-senpai's. If she didn't know any better she'd say the other was going X, but how could the change happen so fast? She thought he was okay but from the look of him, maybe he wasn't.

Then he screamed, and she shook. Miuna felt as though the vibrations of sound were reverberating through her. She didn't understand, she didn't understand. She fumbled to pull out her phone, scrolling through her contacts to find someone to call. "Should I call the police? Should I call an ambulance? Senpai, what's wrong?" She was freaking out but what was she supposed to do? Calling the police might not be the way to go if it was egg-related, but who could she contact? "Senpai?"

His head thumped like a taiko drum. His brain just wouldn't stop hurting. He was just so sorry for hurting so many. He felt like he was trying too hard. Trying too hard meaning, he was going against himself to befriend others. Yet, when he showed his true colors, people stood away from him. They didn't like the whole him. They liked the nice Masahiko. The one who just wanted to have a good time. Yet, the one who liked to show his ass and be outspoken was highly disliked. Like he told the others, "You're telling me this so I could just shut up right? You're telling me that no is leaving but many have without even putting their foot out the door." He looked up at Miuna, eyes full of pain and discomfort. "I...fail so many. I failed myself. I failed you. I failed the others. I might be trying to change for the better but when I do, I'm not 'myself.'

He gradually stood up, almost looking sickly. He panted, feeling alot of pressure just rise in his gut. It was hot and so was his head. He just felt so ill and it bothered him. "What is myself? I was the one who was too outspoken, conceited and more opposed to happiness. I want to be more available for my friends. I want despair to stop eating me alive like this. Yet, it's like an addict's addiction to me. Despair is like a drug to me. I'm so used to it and how it's accustomed to my life, I want everyone to taste it."

He spilled his gut. And he just looked at the other with a sorrowful look. He stepped closer to Miuna and muttered, "Honestly, what info-chan has been saying has shook me alot. Maybe what they are saying is true." He shook his head, "You don't need to call anyone. I just want to go home and just forget what happened...happened." He bit his lip and stared her in the eyes, "There's a lot you don't know about me and if I told you, I don't know what you'll think of me. Yet, for all that I've said and done to you and what I will do to you, I offer you my sincerest apology." He stepped one more step closer, only to simply hug his kohai. Miuna was such a pure soul. He didn't want to do anything to hurt her and he always did and he hated himself for it. She was the first to open his heart for friendship and will always be that. He always paid her back with rudeness and it wasn't fair. The only way he could think of apologizing was just hugging her, telling her that he was sorry. He was an asshole and he knew it. "You don't deserve this. You don't deserve such an unstable bastard as your companion. I'm sorry for hurting you. No matter how you about me or this friendship I have with you, I regret hurting you." He hugged her tighter, eyes sweltering with tears. "Your face at the planetarium, it's burned in my memory. You looked so disappointed and upset. I understand why. I must be one of the factors that strayed your mind from the positive traits of bonds. I might have stated that I didn't care but I did and I do now. I care about you Akiyama." He let her go, slowly, wiping his eyes. He turned away from her and started to the large tree in the field. He couldn't show his face to her from how embarrassed and weak he looked. 

You still failed. You still failed. You still failed. You'll never be good enough for these people. You're still going to be the most negative person that everyone knows.

Despair was beginning to chew at his core again. He just wanted it to stop for right now, not until the time was right. He then laid his back against the grass and looked up at the sky. Hell, if she walked now after just involuntarily hugging her like a lover than a friend, then despair has all the permission to devour his heart.

Miuna stood beside him with nervous hands as he slowly got up, unsure of whether it would be a good idea to touch him. It seemed as though a sudden plague had swept through the park and seeped right into his bones. She moved around, nervously leaning from side to side until she was certain he wouldn't fall. In such a short amount of time he had gone from trying to work with her to suddenly rejecting her actions. Was this from her own weakness? Was he another victim of her inability to stay strong? She was no beacon of hope but she was still one of the main fighters in this battle. It seemed as though when she faltered, others followed.

A growing pit of dread and guilt began to grow in her stomach, the same kind that affected her so many times before. The last time she had felt it she had been standing in the doorway of her old friend's dorm room, watching as the girl ran away from her. This was now the second time she was feeling a twist in her gut at this school. Her vision was tunneling and she took a deep breath to stay focused.

"But... isn't that the point of these eggs?" She asked, her voice hollow as she tried to think of a way to rationalize his thinking. It felt like they were back to square one again, trying to fight the despair before it took over completely. A lump in the back of her throat was making it difficult to swallow but she continued on. "You think I've lived some kind of goody-two-shoes life or something? That I care what you've done in the past? What does it matter... what does any of it matter..."

Her words were stopped as he hugged her and she froze, the sudden contact unfamiliar to her. A sudden fire flared within her being and she felt her fists tighten as he released her and turned to walk away. Why was it like this? Why did they always leave? It only hardened the idea of perfection further in her head. If she hadn't shown any weakness, would he still be speaking these words? If she was still smiling at the end of all these fights would they still disappear one by one? Who was he to tell her about loneliness and hardships.

As he began to walk towards the large tree, she took a step forward, then another. "I don't want an apology, I want an answer. What do you want, Senpai?" She glared at him with furrowed brows, standing tall even without her transformation. "If I was telling you to shut up, I'd have said it to your face. Who has left you at this school? Who has abandoned you? We've all been trying our best, we've all been fighting this despair that has been plaguing you and so many others. You say you can't change, but you have an egg. Your heart is pure enough to release your guardian character, you're strong enough that you can transform."

Miuna took more steps forward, finally catching up to him. In the same fashion as the planetarium, she reached out to grab his shirt and pull him down to eye level. She didn't like looking up to people, she wanted to be on equal level with her. She wanted everyone she met to know she was serious no matter how small she may seem. "If you want to be yourself then give it your all. Your despair is nothing more than a half-boiled shadow of your past, but what you were and the sins you've seen don't define your future. You are not your parents, you are not your siblings, you are not your old friends. You are one of us. You're an egg holder first and foremost, so what is your dream, Senpai? What kind of person are you willing to become?"

God...he started to feel even more sick. He could feel sweat scroll down his forehead. Why was she so loud? She was too loud for him. He mumbled under his breath, feeling her appearance behind him. She was talking about having a goodie two household and how about her caring about his past. God, of course she wouldn't understand. The blonde turned around and faced her, eyes now angry, filled with fire. "You know what, Miuna? I thought you would understand, since you have all the answers." His tone shifted from upset to plain pissed. He looked down to see her fists. Was she pissed too? Was she angry? He bit his lip and chuckled, "And so what if you had this goodie-two living. I don't give absolutely no fucks where you're from, what you've grown from. Why? Because I have the highest faith in you that you've become stronger than what you were and it's so evident. This is not about weakness or strength. This is not about who came from what and what came from who. You wanna know what's wrong? I told you. I fucked with your heart and I hate I did. I ain't leaving you, only warning you if I stay around that I'm going to hurt you even more than what I've done and I don't want to do such a thing to you." He stepped forward to her. Why would he leave her? He just wanted to hide his embarrassment. "I definitely, Miuna, I definitely want to sit here and leave you." He made a smug look, laughing at how to girl thought such a thing. Then, eggs, eggs and more egg talk flooded her mouth. Ugh! All these eggs! "Stop. Talking. About. Eggs."

"My heart is pure to transform and you're right. I want to be better and I'm trying my best here. Maybe when I fight for the first time and show off what I can do, I'll adapt and be great." He stood over the girl who stood tall. Two differences. Masahiko was taller but Miuna was confident. He liked that. He was proud of that. "After that fated day happens, maybe I'll make you think otherwise of me. I look up to you Miuna and when I become strong through my heart and strong through my skill, you'll see and understand what I want to be. I want to be good enough to save those I love. I want to be proud of myself to call myself a lover and no longer a fighter." He had plans to be better and this preaching of eggs wasn't helping. He then placed his hands on her shoulders, eyes dimming from the anger, "I am promising that I am giving my all. I am promising I will give my all. But I cannot promise that despair will catch up like a sandstorm in the desert. So do me a favor? If I become ruthless when depression eats my 'pure heart'.

He knelt down lower to whisper in her ear, "Don't cure me." He backed away and smiled a large grin. "It will prove to many of you that even if your wish is closer than you think, you can still become a monster." His thoughts deemed elsewhere. He had gotten a few text messages that his past was coming back to haunt him and with Miuna by his side, it wasn't going to phase him.

"Do you know Miuna that I like you?" His eyes fluttered to the ground, him picking the grass under him. "I like you so much that I'd do anything for you and even if it's as dumb as trying to suppress my undying love for pain and despair, I'd do it. You're a good kid and you don't need to be around me, my knight. Only a warning, not a request." He looked up at her now, "You can do whatever you want to stop me of whatever I want. I will either continue or give up and move on. It all depends."

His face went from a smile to being serious, "Would you rather know who I am or who I was? I've almost killed someone, Miuna. Do you want to be a part of my friendship circle? So no matter how wicked of an asshole I can be, no matter how much I try to be good to others, no matter who I am or who I was, would you be by me? Cause obviously, you haven't. So why should I sit here and believe that you won't leave me again? If you can leave me over a fight between boys, what makes me think that you won't leave me because of a fight between myself and my heart? Don't waste your time trying to tell me that you won't because...you're not the first and you won't be the last." He looked at the tree and laughed softly. This laugh wasn't something from the heart. It was from being so scared that she was going to leave him again. And if she did, he swore he was going to fall in despair. He liked her so much that if she did leave, he'd feel lost because she was one of the only people that kept him sane. Ok, so she walked out of the planetarium not even speaking a word. This time, if she left, every thing would just go to hell.

She huffed angrily as he spoke, letting go of him to rub at a spot between her eyes. Always, always it felt like she was going in circles with him. She had become stronger, that much was true. Even she wouldn't humble herself down to not admitting that months of hard work had paid off. She'd broken her ass to be where she was now, to be able to recover from her own problems and keep moving forward. She didn't have the time to think about despairing over the smallest things or to think about how pitiful she was as a human being. There were lives that needed to be saved and the number of people willing to do the saving were always lacking. She had so much she had to accomplish in such a short amount of time and so she didn't look at her past, didn't dwell on her own feelings and continued on with life in hopes of an easier tomorrow.

High school only lasted so long. What were they to do after this? If they insisted on suffering through high school then what would happen when college rolled around? How could they pursue new friendships and career paths and a new life when they were so stuck on their old one? Miuna didn't like to admit it but Kazuki's goals sounded nice. To weed out the truly uncurable to insure a brighter future... that was what this was, wasn't it? This entire joke of a school was just one big test to see who could go on to foster the next generation of egg holders. She was a single pawn in the whole picture and they were playing her like a damn fool.

He was playing her like a damn fool. Don't cure him?! "Don't bet on it," she replied with a scowl, having every intention of curing every single person that came into her path. If he wouldn't listen to words then she'd resort to the old fashioned way of sticking her spear in his heart and curing him. And if she didn't do it, countless others would rise up behind her and take her mantle.

She wasn't the only one on this side of the war. The only question was who else was on his. Who else would fall so deep into depravity that their egg would turn black. Would he also cover himself in dust like those that broke eggs, using his newfound despair to crush the unwanted dreams of those around him? Would he use his transformation for good or evil?

Her face turned dark again, expression blank as she looked down at him. She'd been right to mention him to Sasaki-san. Now he stated that he liked her? "You don't even know me," she said, not moving from where she had rooted her feet, "You want to give me some shitty story about your past, paint yourself like a villain? Want to act like I'm using you or something, trying to trick you for the greater good like some cliche leader? I hate to break it to you, but friends are like that. They aren't personal toys that you can just call up to arrive at a moment's notice. We have our own responsibilities and our own lives, and the fact of the matter is that after that planetarium meeting I had to clean up the mess that both of you started. I couldn't hold your hand the entire way or comfort you because I'm not that kind of person. I stand on the sidelines and wait, and when all of you break apart into little pieces I follow the trail left behind and pick them all up. Don't you dare forget who pulled Takeo off of you, don't you fucking forget who had to deal with the repercussions of all of you."

She glared at him with exasperated eyes. "I broke a vow to my king that day just to stay by your side, so don't fucking act like you've been fighting this battle alone. We've been with you every step of the way, whether we were by your side or in the shadows."

And the only thing that Masahiko could do was stay quiet. His eyes were simply lost in the others. Her blank expression terrifying him a little. Yet, for some reason, he was angry. He wanted to fight her now. No one said anything about using someone. And his statement on liking her. It wasn't some joke. He truly did and the way she just pounced on his words. It pissed him off. Another shatter of his heart could be heard through the nerves in his brain. What was wrong with him? What truly was happening right now? He only had little trust in a few but a lot for Miuna. It was only reassurance that if she was going stay, she could. There was no need to get all feisty. And from then, Masahiko just muttered, reducing his ego from bad assto just plain angry. He could feel the multiple words that Miuna came from her pretty mouth became more of a "fuck you and your personality" to "we got lives and it's not all about you" to "i saved your ass because you were an asshole." All of that in Masahiko's face was a complete spitball to the face. He stared at the girl with focused eyes, not even opening his mouth. He just pulled out his phone and looked at his twitter followers. He messaged the infochandes twitter account, "I'm waiting on you... Show up or it's evident you're a piece of shit fake."

At this point, he was so pissed that he wanted to break something. He could honestly make someone a void right now. He could use a nice egg to crush under his fingers. He waited patiently for the egg to respond. In the mean time, he just stared at Miuna. Yes, the male was really this much of a "play victim" character but at least he admire the friend that actually looked out for him. But talking to him like this, like he's murdered someone because of the way he is, it struck him like a light. How could she just tell what he was and what he's supposed to know? He pulled out his heart egg from his messenger bag and looked at like a scientist on a planet. He stared her with anger in his eyes. He was trying to change. He was doing it for him, to prove that he could be better. To prove that he could the most sweetest person ever but it was going to take time. It wasn't going to be overnight. And all because he told her that he needed her around, she said shit like that out of her mouth. It filled him with rage. Maybe, she didn't understand. Maybe, Miuna's reasoning for pulling Takeo off of him that day was not to protect Masahiko but to protect Takeo from going back to his delinquent ways. No one cared for Masahiko. No one did. Masahiko even had Daichi's company and even then, he left alone before. They could do again. Any of them and you know what?

That was fine. He didn't care anymore. He just wanted infochandes to show up. The male stared her in the eyes and said the infamous line to end all conversations, "Okay." And then so, he turned back to his heart egg and ran his finger over the rose design. It was a delicate pressure point there. The right squeeze and he could be a lost sheep. What a dream if everyone was that way including him. No one would have to spit their fucking opinions on anyone anymore and everything would be mellow and logical. No dreams would be blurted about and everyone would just keep to themselves. His eyes averted back to Miuna, "I'll do as you say. My bad." He smiled with little emotion.
